Also, been doing a lot of thinking about my job path lately. The way i see it: i have two paths i can take. the first is to stay with this state job, make my money, pay my taxes, and hopefully be able to retire later and have my farm like i know i want. which i reeeally really want, with all the alpacas i can handle! However, i'm very depressed each morning i wake up and have to go to work.
the second option would be to tattoo full time at my friends' shop like i've been wanting to (and maybe work a part time job on the side). I've been regretting not being able to expand in the tattoo field, and i've been itching to work in a shop full time. The way i see it is that i have the ability to be able to take that kind of risk, since i don't have any kids, or major financial obligations.
I find it hard because i can really justify both, so it's really a hard decision....i think maybe i'm going to make some decisions after a few more months...maybe see how i feel after spring is within eye sight. And also maybe after a doctors appointment, maybe see if there's anything i can do for my Seasonal Depression. or just find out if i have some type of depression...who knows.

It is never easy making big decisions like this so don't feel bad that you well, feel bad. One thing I do believe in is that life is too short to be unhappy. (As Fleisch said) If your state job really makes you miserable, in my opinion it isn't worth it. That doesn't mean there isn't something else entirely different out there that you would enjoy. You're young, smart, and lovely so you have a lot of options!

It's soooo hard to make these decisions and I'm struggling with this as well. I think it's normal for people of our generation/subculture to not be able to accept the standard 9-5, and want something more. at the end of the day, it's your life! I think you should take the road that makes you happiest over the one that's steady and potentially less enriching. 
I am trying to do the same myself!
