I was thinking the other day about how happy i am that i've found my nerdy side. i feel like i'm truly being myself lately. i know i'm a bit late in all of this, but i guess it's better late than never i suppose? if any of you wanna talk nerdy to me, feel free to send me a message! i love nerd-talks :3 it helps me to expand my geekiness into other realms of nerdism (too much "geek" and "nerd"? ok, gotcha). so if you have any suggestions, too, please feel free to suggest! chances are i don't already know of it
We also got a new King Size SleepNumber bed!! Aerie was originally going to have it, but she didn't want such a big bed, so she traded us our Queen size mattress...and box spring for a kind size :3 i'm so happy! i've always wanted to be spoiled with a king size bed for the longest time. and now my dream has finally come true!! i don't think i'll ever be able to go back. even if i become single! THE BED IS MIIINNNEEE!!! bahaha.
Well, i hope everyone is going to have a good christmas! Aerie, QueenMabb and i will all be getting together on thursday for a christmas party for just us fwends (and significant others, of course...cause, y'know, we're grown-ups 'n all >.>).
I went a little crazy with the gift buying this year and now i'm broke
and the worst thing is i bought my boyfriend and friends things before i bought my family anything. i feel kinda like an ass. i got my dad a SG shirt, and my mom and step mom $25 gift cards :/ ugh how lame of me!! i didn't even think about my step dad OR my grandma!!Oh well, learned my lesson for next year, that's for sure! i guess that's just how life goes. you fuck up: learn your life lesson and move the fuck forward. Amen.

Love your blog! Two great nerdy things are The Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien, and the TWIT podcasts. This Week in Tech.
The Silmarillion is Tolkien's master work. There are parts of it dealing with genealogy and lineage that is not fun, but a LOT of it is more powerful than anything, in my opinion. Extreme relationships, politics, wars, families, power, races, etc. And the greatest love story ever, between Beren and Luthien. I've been geeky enough to memorize some decent parts, so here's bit from Beren to Luthien :"Sweet earth and northern sky, forever blest since here did lie, and here with lissom limbs did run, between the earth between the sky, Luthien Tinuviel, more fair than mortal tongue can tell. Though all to ruin fell the world, and were disolved and backwards hurled, unmade into the old abyss, yet were it's making good or this, the sun the earth the moon the sea, that Luthien, for a time, could be."
May have screwed that up from memory.
And the TWIT (this week in tech, http://twit.tv) podcasts are available for free on itunes. EXTREMELY great tech and nerdy info, but also fun people to listen to. Leo LaPorte and friends. Their flagship podcast is This Week in Tech. And Mac Break Weekly is awesome. They have ipad podcasts, photography podcasts, and may more. Worth checking out.
Additionally, Veronica Belmont (http://www.veronicabelmont.com) is one of the country's princesses of geek and tech. You remind me of her a bit. She's cool, and also on some tech podcasts, and runs a reading podcast on geeky nerdy books called Sword and Laser. (http://www.swordandlaser.com)

Funny you mention going broke this month... Just today I was making calculation to see how financially screwed am I, lol. I'm having more expenses this month than I had previously thought I would...

Yes, the book The Silmarillion is in prose. There are some songs written out, and certainly some poems, but the book is prose. If you like Lord of the Rings, there are battles in The Silmarillion that make those giant battles in Lord of the Rings look like small skirmishes.

Ah, shame. But then again, I understand, different people have different tastes.
The CoD franchise has built a very large fanbase over the years, so it doesn't matter how good or bad the latest CoD game is, there'll be a LOT of people playing it.
Black Ops 2 looks like at least a little different, in a good way, from the previous CoD games, but it's still not something that I find all that good. (truth be told, I'm not into military shooter games)
I've been wanting to get all the Star Trek episodes to watch, from the very first ones to the latest ones, but I need time for that. My dad's a trekkie and my sister has been becoming one too recently...
Haven't heard about Torchwood, though, what's it about? (I'll be looking for a synopsis of it too, but I find it better to know from someone who's been watching it )
