I've decided to not date for the rest of the summer. Dating seems so contrived these days. I'm much more interested in meeting people at face value and building friendships, rather than trying to force a relationship because someone checked out my facebook page and thinks that based on a list of stats and pictures, I'm the kind of girl they should be dating/fucking/whatever.
I'm also probably never going to the bovine again. I went last friday to see a friends band and the entire time i was there i couldn't wait to leave. Its not that the band wasn't great, cause they were. And its not that the staff isn't totally awesome to me, cause they are. Its that I'm so sick of feeling like I'm meeting the same people all the time. and that everyone that I meet with in those kinds of social settings already have preconcieved notions of who i am. I want to be annoynomous. I want someone to meet me for me, and not for the things they've heard, or the people i once dated.
A great thing about this city is that all you have to do is go a few blocks east, or a few intersections south, and you're in a whole other social circle. Thats what I'm banking on.
I'm finally finding a good balance in my life. I've been reconnecting with friends, and building new friendships with the kind of people who aren't caught up in status and rumours. I've got a great job which allows me finacial freedom and stability. I'm finding a way to balance my obligations, my socializing, and my downtime.
Downtime is key. And gives me time to reflect of the changes my life has gone through. I really feel like i'm in a good head space, and although its taken me going through some shit to get here, I wouldn't change a thing.
Its the journey that brings you home.

You shouldn't have your vagina go on strike. My penis was on strike years ago, but the smart thing to do is to take your genitalia, your heart, your mind and your soul out of the dating "union" altogether. Dating is NOTHING more than an impracticle exercise in futility. It is a process by which both parties, usually, attempt to demonstrate only the best qualities that would make them suitable for a more committed relationship. Most people are not, but you don't get to find out what all their bad qualities are until you've committed and you're in too deep. It's kind of like being sold a bright, shiny new Ferrari, only to find out it has no engine and no transmission. You're left with a very handsome, but useless, $100K paperweight. And that is a generous estimate of an ideal dating situation. Lets not forget the bald faced liars, losers, cheaters and straight up fucking weirdos one must deal with during the dating process. it is truly nothing but an unambiguous waste of time and money. Dating, to me, is like food. No matter how appetizing it looks, it's sole and end purpose is to eventually turn itself in to shit. Which is why I left the union, and no longer have to go on strike. I find now that, because I have raised the premium value of my datability (i.e., demand goes through the roof when supply is unobtainable), I meet much more serious and focused women who don't want what I don't want. It is a very interesting process. You should try it. Fuck the stike. Leave the union.

Oh, and be glad that you can just move a few blocks a find a new social circle. Where I'm from you can move miles and everybody still knows who you are/what you did/etc etc 
And you have beautiful kids. And they have a beautiful Mummy
