Thanks for the recommendations! I'll definitely try the rye version; I normally like a good rye beer. And Old Grandad has already been consumed! One of our bartender friends said it was a must, just to have the frame of reference. I'm reading up on local Texas versions as well, but it seems that although our state has some strict rules for beer, the rules for distilled products or much looser. As long as the product is bottled in state, the labeling conventions are fairly liberal.

Regarding the burlesque part of the show we saw at New Years, I came away almost nostalgic, I'd say. The performers were very good and I appreciated it from the artistic standpoint. I'd go again just to see what else this troupe had in it's repertoire.
