rexxy here!

stopping in to fill you in on recent haps.
which are pretty much "the yooge"

working as much as possible.
aka
dwelling in a dark establishment drinking free coffee and reaffirming my disgust for ignoramuses of all varieties.
zoom image

cooking and consuming
aka
peanut butter/chocolate chip waffles.
cheesy, hammy, bacony, eggy, scallopy potatoey delights.
irregularly shaped chocolate chip cookies

basking in the way that agent cooper drinks coffee with such verve and developing insatiable cravings for slices of cherry pie. otherwise known as watching twin peaks, season one.

drinking lots of coffee myself on the porch for ever and ever.
zoom image

whiskey.
sex.

melting into floors and becoming reptilian.
zoom image

lots of converge, neurosis, and acid bath on the jam machine.

lots of reading.

slayer in july. love
converge in less than two fucking weeks. love

cheese cubes en masse.

naked friday the thirteenth viewing of friday the 13th, properly.

and not enough yoga which i will change right meow.
then a hot, hot shower.
and a book.
all with nag champa smoke drifting about which i haven't been able to afford for over a month.
but thanks to my loving roommate, i may intoxicate my nostrils with delight, tonight. smile

in less than two weeks i'll have dolladolla bills once more. been fine without, always am. but looking forward to little luxuries. travels, tattoos, crazy food, good coffee beans to grind and press, frenchly. biggrin

but alas the time has come for my eyes to part ways with this screen.
what have you been up to?
what did you eat for breakfast?
what was the last song you danced naked to?
(i can't remember mine and that is a terrible thing that i must change. NOW. i'll let you know. smile )
i hope all is amazing.
ta'ta, love morsels.
kiss

cracked window
rain pours down
the axe settles in her eye
wide open
my nails into flesh
lights off, bloodbath on
miles down the road a
tiny caterpillar crawls on
no bigger than a speck of dust
and i wonder about it
as i fall asleep
on a chilled,
noodle-scented middle of the night

wink

Hello From Texas! What have I been up to? (Relative to your blogging order)

Work:
Continuing the months long wait for my current job to be posted, post merger, so I can
apply for it anew, and perhaps even keep it.
Tangentially, why do we keep the jobs we do? I think few actually work at a job they
love or are deeply satisfied with. Certainly for money and/or (supposed) security.
But I think inertia is the primary reason. The physics of the workplace.

Food & Drink:
Moon-Pops! Basically round, six inch fused brown rice cake-like objects, but tastier than
rice cakes. Excellent with peanut butter or honey.
Moloka’i coffee, whole beans, ground and pressed frenchly, as you suggest. Worth the
extra dime or two and the time to order.

Televsion:
The Killing on AMC. Excellent, dark, well acted series.
And I am a Twin Peaks fan. The earlier seasons are the best, I think. I even have a Twin
Peaks coffee mug I ordered back in the day.

Music:
Lots of local music! Always my favorite.
And Flyleaf in CD form.

Books:
Mockingjay, the final Hunger Games book.
I know. It’s the literary equivalent to a chili-dog, but it’s a good chili-dog!
Some classic noir, The Thin Man by Dashiell Hammett is next. Followed by Megan
Abbott’s new book The End of Everything, in July.

Enough for now!
Hope all is right with your world.

Thank for listening, Beautiful!

Preparing to change my blog (which I'll forget to in a few no doubt), I read through your response on my blog and got to turning the cogs. Don't worry....I had a fire extinguisher handy in case I thought a little too hard.

In recent months, I've really embraced meditation in ways that I haven't before. Sure, I've dabbled in the past, which was met with good benefits - inside and out. Now, however, I've really felt as if I needed it. And in educating myself into the various thoughts on meditation, I've also began studying more Eastern thought processes, with a special focus on Buddhism. And I've to come to a very heavy (in a 60's way of thinking) point.

Recognizing that cessation from suffering is possible by ending desire, I've really given a lot of thought on what exactly this means, and how it applies to me. I go through a day looking at things and wondering if I could actually go without them. How wonderful it is that I usually lose track of the original focus and begin considering more emotional things that I could give up or somehow *sacrifice* in order to end suffering.

Of course, I might not even applying it in the right way a Bodhi might apply the lesson, but hey...I'm dabbling still.

An interesting class exercise from several semesters ago comes to mind often. In this exercise, we were instructed to write down our five most prized possessions/things in our lives. One by one we were then instructed to choose one to rip into pieces, symbolically giving it up. It was a very poignant exercise, because I couldn't play the game. Choosing who or what you'd give up in life. Sure, giving up the self is easier than giving up the others (I think did give up my health before refusing to give up anymore).

I wonder if it applies nearly as much to the material possessions as it does to our mental/spiritual/emotional possessions, however intangible.

Make any sense?
