Tomorrow afternoon, I will be embarking on HOLY SHIP!, the electronic music cruise, along with several thousand other concert-goers.

Anyone else in SG Land coming a-board?

Last night I had the wonderful fortune of being able to catch NoFX play at Iriving Plaza last night.

It's be ages since I've been to a punk show or anything resembling, and I couldn't help grinning like an idiot from the time I got there until I left. Aside from the positive community energy that's prevalent in every show, I think it was mostly the sensation of being able to travel back into my 16 year old self for a few hours, moshing and flailing, sweating and screaming. It is like what many say--with a crowd of strangers all singing the same words, making the same movements--it was akin to going to Punk Rock Church.

Highlights:

- Running around in a circle pit like a maniac, getting punched and not feeling a thing
- Seeing the drummer from Anti-Flag move his drumset into the middle of the pit and play during their last song.
- Getting a security guard (who had a stunning resemblance to a pitbull) to finally smile after another concertgoer and I froze our gap-mouthed smiles and stared at him
- Telling a guy (who kept hitting on me) that I would, in fact, totally dance with him (hey, he was cute!) if he didnt just look like he just took a swim in the East River
- Singing "Stickin' in My Eye" with a huge man behind me as we both attempted to poke each others' eyes.

What a great show. Was anyone there last night? The Friday show?

Tonight, I'll be at Deadmau5! *WOMP WOMP*. Can't wait to see Excision and Feed Me too.

In the past few months, I've been debating (albeit with little seriousness) the benefits of leaving NYC for SEA.

While attempting to get through the security line at the Sea-Tac, with my flight already 5 minutes into boarding, I had a moment where I knew I could never live in Seattle.

I was in line at the metal detector right behind a middle-aged woman wearing glasses and a wedding ring. She attempted no less than 5 times to walk through the detector without beeping, looking around extremely confused every time she set off the alarm. The TSA official, also an older man, kept waving her in repeatedly, saying "check your pockets, m'am, check your pockets." I yelled, "Hey, take off your glasses!" About three times before she heard me.

She took them off her face...Then held them as she walked through the metal detector.

Not surprisingly, it continued to beep, and my urge to slap her and the TSA official increased fourfold.

Made the flight 5 minutes before the doors closed. Never again, SEA.

Aaaaugh---so many missed messages...I gotta start coming on this site more often...If I wasn't so afraid of being recognized in the physical world, beyond this website.

Well, I'm going to try to make a point from now on to be more active and less paranoid about my place in all this. It is not to say I don't still have my doubts, but I'd rather have a say in my bad fortune than no control at all.

Hello again....

VEGAS....

Tomorrow, I fly into Las Vegas for the first time ever...

I don't really know what to expect, but I come wielding an unhealthy obsession with Texas Hold'Em, stripper heels, and a small cache of psychedelics.

I'll let you all know how it goes...in the meantime, anyone here have any crazy Vegas stories they'd care to share?

Love,

Rei

Hey everyone,

I was looking through some old photos while trying to find something not naked or drunk-face to put on my LinkedIn profile...well, I turned up empty handed, but I did find these photos of myself dressed as Cassie Hack ( I know, I know--way to suck at being original, but it was as easy costume) for a comic book convention. Also note the sexy Tank Girl in the last shot--not like she'd be hard to miss...

Anyone else have photos of themselves as superheros/anti-heroes? What were you dressed as? Extra points for something obscure or extra-strange!!

It's official! I'm gainfully employed with an awesome job post grad-school!

Western PA be damned--New York, here I come!!

I feel like I'm in purgatory--on the cusp of something great, or at the very least, a new chapter in life. I can't wait to see all my NYC peeps again, and I can't wait to GET THIS TATTOO. I spoke to Amanda Wachob, and it turns out it's going to be around 13 mutherfuckin' inches in diameter on my back. Let's hope the new apartment doesn't need a security deposit, because that shit is all going to the ink...goddamn!

The only thing that would make this life perfect is having someone special to share all of this with. I recently broke up with my bf of a year and half b/c he wanted to get married, and I knew deep down that he wasn't The One.

Anyone else here on the verge of something new? Anyone just fall in love with someone new? Please share with me! I want to be excited for you!!

Also, has anyone here heard that song "Let's Call it Off" - Peter, Bjorn and John featuring Drake? I've been playing it on loop lately and annoying the shit out of my neighbors--great song.

Here are some photos of a bear I painted for my ex...a small tribute.

Hey everyone!

It's been a while, but I'm happy to hear from and reconnect with all of you!

So, as you may have noticed, the wonderfully talented Beatrice Schleyer and I have decided to post the "Falling Down" set on MR. We both had a lovely time wallowing ankle deep in goose down for this summer shoot and I welcome and will entertain all your compliments and constructive criticisms. I'd really like to hear what you all think, and if anyone would like a 15 lb bag of feathers for their own shoot, art project or kinky sex party, let me know and you can have it!

And for all of you out there who have boners for Photoshop, please note Beatrice's excellent composition on the blond, feather merkin! No carpet nor drape shall go unmatched!

Also, coming in March, I'll be getting my duck tattoo redone--expect to see a blog posting about that and as of last week, I've made an appointment with Amanda Wachob to get a BRAND NEW, FUCKING ENORMOUS back piece.

Anyone here get a recent tat they want to show off? Or maybe something they regret? Send me a message or post, post, post on this blog!

UPDATE: I just noticed there were a ton of glitches with my set, and I'm trying very hard to fix them. For instance, the order was incorrect and there were a ton of pictures missing. I'll let you guys know when it's legit. Sorry!!

Argh! The new set, "Falling Down" got rejected. The reason given was fairly ambiguous, but I pushing for a more specific reason would have seemed pushy. If you would like to see it, it will be posted on Zivity.com in the near future. It's likely to be one of my last sets.

I think I might be done with shooting for a long while--not because of SG, not because of any photographers I've been working with--my life is not going in the direction where being open about being nude on the internet is going to be acceptable.

I love these photos, and I love being naked, but I also love being employed.

Overall, I think we're on our way to becoming really open about human sexuality as mindset, not just protocol, but real change isn't likely to happen in my lifetime.

Naked pictures don't hurt anyone, and certainly they don't compromise one's ability to do his or her job. It's the nature of others, via harassment and distraction, or the inability to "take you seriously" that hinders productivity. Additionally, there's the implication, to some, that your moral character has been compromised--a totally baseless assessment.

A Quick Anecdote: When I was in college, some frat guys found out about my SG status (all of whom I've NEVER met or knew) and started a Facebook group set out to humiliate me. Eventually, I got it taken down, but since then, I've wondered if this was a harbinger for more harmful, and totally groundless, vilification in the future.

Given some of the ferociousness in condemnation out on the internet in regards for relatively innocuous behavior involving sex and sexuality, I wonder if these photos are my blood in the water?

Is the true nature of humanity one torch away from a effigy? If so, why are people so angry?

EDIT: To those who responded to the blog post--thank you for your input. Many of you had some very apt comments to contribute and overall, I agree wholeheartedly. At this point, I plan to remain active on the site, but have put the prospect of future photosets on hold.
