I got an apartment! In an awesome neighborhood! In an ugly building! And it's tiny! I'm so excited!
Moving day is September 12th. Who wants to help?

You know what's awesome? Hearing my roommate having sex in the next room. What's extra awesome is that she and her skeezy boyfriend do it so hard the house shakes. True story. It's ridiculous. They are so loud I can hear them over my white noise machine. Also, I'm pretty sure they're doing it on purpose. It's so awesome to feel unwelcome in your own home.
Next time I go to the bar I'm telling everyone we know all about it. Maybe that will embarrass them enough that they'll shut the hell up.

Good news: I have a sewing machine now. I got it for $10 from a friend of mine. It's awesome. I made a red pencil skirt with a floopy bit in the back.
Bad news: Since I dropped that 8 am class due to a desire to retain my sanity (what's left of it) I have to repay some of my financial aid. I wonder if this means I won't be getting as much for fall as I had hoped since I'm only taking 6 credits. (Again, sanity.)
Indifferent news: I have to move by October.
Bad news related to the indifferent news: Apartments are expensive! I knew I was getting a super sweet deal where I live now but come on! Everything that's not crazy expensive is out in the middle of nowhere) (ie The Suburbs. Yuck.) If anyone has an lead on a 1 bedroom apartment that isn't in an area where I'm likely to be shot that also takes pets and is less than $600 please let me know.

Perhaps taking an 8am-10am (Tues/Thurs) class along with a 5:30pm-9pm (freaking everyday) class was not the best idea. Three days into the semester and I'm already exhausted.
Must. Have. Naps.

Holy crap, thunderstorm. I love summer storms. Except when I leave my car window open and soak the seat. Oops!
So the Best Friend from two entries ago called me today and wanted to talk to me. In person. So we're dating now? I have mixed feelings. It's what I wanted in the first place though so it's odd that I'm feeling so strangely about it. So that's weird. I guess we'll see how it goes.
Good news: I still have a 4.0 GPA.
Bad news: I waited too long to enroll for classes for summer and now I'm on the wait list for one and the other is closed. Oops.

I just broke up with my best friend. Via email. Because I'm a sissy. I really hope it was the right thing to do. I just can't keep being kind of in love with someone who will never love me back like that. It hurts like hell. I really want to go to bed and sleep for the rest of the weekend, but of course I'm in the middle of finals and I'm going to be really pissed if I let this ruin my 4.0 GPA. I like my 4.0 GPA. It makes me feel accomplished.
Anyhoo, I'm feeling very sad and very pathetic. Unrequited love will do that to you.

An open letter:
Dear Clothing Manufacturers,
Do you remember natural fibers? Cotton? Linen? Wool? Maybe even silk? Do any of these words ring a bell? Why are you not making clothes made of these lovely fibers? What is up with all those gross polyester/rayon blends that everything seems to be made out of? It is no longer the 70s. Nor is it the 80s for that matter. Cotton is a lovely fiber. It feels nice on the skin and it breaths so one doesn't end up smelling like a gym locker by the end of the day. If you are that desperate from stretchy fabric, feel free to blend it with some spandex or something, but for the love of all the is holy, lay off the polyester!
Polyester feels slimy. It feels weird and slinky in a bad way. It clings in horrible, horrible ways. It truly is the worst material ever. Spandex unitards feel better than some poly/rayon blend. Please stop using it!
And why, WHY would anyone want a perfectly good cotton dress that is LINED in polyester? It ruins the whole thing!
So, dearest clothing manufacturer, please start making pretty clothes in natural fibers. If you do I promise to buy them someday when I actually have money.
Love,
Me (The Fabric Snob)
Ps. How does that one dress cost $200? It's like 7 pieces. And there's no shaping except for some gathering at the waist. The finishing had better be perfect. Seriously.

I'm trying to register for classes for summer semester and I swear there is nothing useful. I know I need to go in a talk to a counselor at some point and make a plan of action so I'm not in school for the rest of my life, but every class I've searched meets 4 days a week which I can't do because I work. I don't even care what classes they are at this point. It's getting a little ridiculous.
Grr. Argh.
