Think about Space Odyssey 2001... We were no near close to that in 2001, so since we know we suck at predicting the future, all of the present future is bleak. Or something.

Expectations will usually trump reality. But I agree entirely, that's why I vow to wear 3 piece suits to baseball games this summer (old good old timey fun, minus the racism of course) . Keep it Classy like Freddy Blassie.
