One year on my birthday I inadvisedly peeked at my horoscope. It said that the stars were in favor if I wanted to get pregnant. So now I stick to fortune cookies - for entertainment purposes only. Such little gems of wisdom they dispense.

I had one recently that said "my" business is going to take off soon. Well, I'll be sure to tell the boys down at my oil derrick ranch to dig juuuust a little harder, then! I think I was somehow confused with Sumner Redstone by The Great All-Knowing Cookie Spirit.

"wisdom"... now that is a slippery word; for truly the for step towards it, is the recognition that you know absolutely nothing...

I wish all fortune cookie fortunes read "We're both fortunate that soon I'll be in your mouth."

Hola... re: Rendez-vous. Mmmm. In hindsight, methinks my fondness for the film (you are quite correct about its softcore value) has more to do with where my head was when I first saw it rather than the overall value of the flick itself.

Hindsight being 20/20, I'd need to see it again, with the benefit of many, many other (and better) cinematic events between us to give it a more... objective appraisal.

Speaking of objective appraisals, the leg similarity of yourself and Ms. Binoche is uncanny. Malle's Damage, in my humble opinion, is sadly under appreciated. Again, it may have been my mindset (and chaotic circumstances I was living at the time I saw it) but that film so kicked my ass.

Final frame is beyond heartbreaking.

Yes. It's also true that your foresight eventually becomes your hindsight thus eliminating the need for a mentor all together. For what is wisdom given as opposed to earned but some stale fortune cookie caught in your throat. Is this semantics or wisdom and if so... what am I now but an ole codge. Soggy cracker. I get a central role in a journal entry??? That’s so exciting! Seriously. Narcissistically, I checked – I’ve been referenced in 2 total journal entries, so that’s 2 points for me. Which led me to an overall comparison of the competition – so far I’m lagging behind fortune cookies by 1 point, lagging behind Nabokov by 2, and lagging behind animals in general by 5. I am tied with urine though, which is semi-honorary. Also, I’m ahead of a wide range of other authors, movies, and life events. However, the greatest honor of all – you won’t believe this, so brace yourself – I’m tied with Harold. That’s so honorary it’s almost sacrilegious; because I’m clearly so undeserving you may actually want to remedy that.

Last weekend, by the way, I insisted that we hang out with you, but the woman was sick and had too much work. What can ya do. Chicks right?

We should all hang out soon though. It’s overdue.
