How do you guys ask someone out? There's this cute fella I'd really like to ask out, but I'm crazy shy and entirely afraid to talk to people I'm attracted to. I'm awkward, and the least smooth person. What should I do?!

How do you conquer a lifetime of shyness? How do you actually talk to members of the opposite sex without alcohol or wanting to vomit?

And now for the typical MR set plug ...

Thanks for all the comments on my RTFM set currently in Member Review! And if you haven't seen it, check it out here and maybe give it some love if you like it! <3 <3 <3

It might actually be the last set I shoot. I feel like I've reached the point where I don't really need to model anymore. It might be the 5 month countdown to my 30s coming at me, but my heart/creativity just isn't in it. RTFM is a set I love and feel captures who I am, so I'd be happy leaving it as the end one. But I heart SG regardless.

1. you're gorgeous. whether your 29 or 45. you don't look it and your beautiful.
2. with my male experience, they like confidence. I would just put on your best confidence and ask him! Why would he say no? and if he does, what'd you lose? you're gorgeous and there are others. smile

I actually just encountered this dilemma. I met a boy at sunoco, he works there. I bought a Dutch n handed him my phone number when I paid. I made the first move but I put the ball in his court. The only thing I said was this is for u. He texted me that same night.

What I always do is focus on just saying the first word, usually "Hi" or "Hey". After that you pretty much have to finish saying the whole thing. I do that whenever I have to say/admit to something I don't want to. You may (will probably) stumble on your words a bunch as they come out, but as long as you get the gist of it out it'll be OK. Having somebody be nervous as they're asking you out is rarely a minus. The fact that you're willing to take the initiative is pretty awesome in itself.

Good luck!

asking people out? the trick is just setting up a specific thing and time. not a "let's hang out sometime" kinda thing, but more like "hey! would you want to check out that wolfman movie on saturday?" you know. the problem i encounter is...are we "just hanging out" or "is this a date?" i have a tough time bridging the gap from friendzone into date territory. sometimes it's organic, sure, but if you've hung out as friends a bit it can get tougher. sometimes i straight up say "let's go on a DATE" make it kinda silly because for some reason that word freaks people out.

looking back i have no good advice and i'm lame. good luck i'm sure you'll be fine! hell toss some pointers my way! ha

I've recently discovered that just explaining your feelings is the best way to go. Be specific, but not obscure. Just tell him how you feel and then suggest an outing, as friends, unless he also wants to be more. Honesty is always the best policy, and it really, really works.

I might be a little late on this, but back in November, I had a girl walk up to me and introduce herself, then hand me the cover from a match book with her name and phone number. I thought she was beautiful, so I called her up and we chatted for a couple weeks, then went out on what she said was the best date she had ever been on. It made me feel really good to hear that. I was just myself.....we hung out one more time after that, but we were at weird points in life and neither of us was really ready for anything serious and there were some differences that made us better as friends than as BF/GF, so it was all good. I actually just wrote her a couple days ago. It may not have went anywhere, but I made a new friend, right? smile
