Posh Oh, hey you guys!

This evening I unpacked my Canadian Snow Suit. There's really nothing Canadian about it, except maybe that I bought it there, and even then, I'm pretty sure I picked up my Burton snow pants while in Vermont many summers ago. Anyway, that sentence was poorly constructed and I miss playing in the snow. A lot. My goal in taking out my full snow outfit was so I could wear it all the time, with the hope of showing Scopitone just how insane I am, and thus making him realize the only cure for this overdressed ailment would be to take me on a Snowy Winter Fun Time Getaway. There are mountains not too far away. I guess you can call them mountains. Really, they are like mountains from Ontario. I want the sexy Rockies.

I used to miss walking down Yonge Street on a cold winter's day. Around College street to be exact, possibly because my favorite pizza place was there, or because I spent a solid amount of time with Miesha there, or even because the all night diners were my favorite place to be right after a show. What I miss right now is wet slush. Don't judge me! I want to walk down a busy downtown street, tall buildings on either side, with an almost furious, sporadic wind, and wet slush under my poorly chosen winter shoes. I want cars to drive past me in puddles of dirty street slush, splashing my jacket. I want my jeans to gain 5 pounds and be soaked to the knee in the time it takes me to leave a store doorway and get on a bus. But on a normal, most likely understood level, I miss big fluffy flakes and the first snow fall of the season.

Two years ago, first snow fall in Kelowna:

And one of my favorite winter pictures ever:

1.) "Anyway, that sentence was poorly constructed" made me laugh a lot. but it's late and maybe thats why.

2.) that second picture is too cute for words.

I remember both of those when they were first posted, it's when I started talking to you. I thought they were the cutest pictures ever. How the hell was that two years ago? Geez.

I did pretty much all of what you just mentioned while in Vancouver. However much I may have grumbled at the time, I did enjoy it, because it was a new experience for me, and I kind of wish I could do it again, or that it would snow here.

One of the things I love about Portland is how close everything is. Mt. Hood is only a half hour drive, and it's a proper mountain. I might have to now that I've caught a bit of the snow bug. I remember when first visiting here, and seeing foothills, and thinking those where mountains and then being directed at Mt. Hood, and going "whoah".

I hear Kelowna is a lot like Portland, but I don't see it from the pictures. Maybe they meant the culture?

i had heard that it snows like crazy in the czech republic from about november until febuary. but alas, all we have had is one morning where there was a few sprinklings of snow on the ground. it snowed more last year in sheffield, england, than it has here. apparently it's an unusually warm winter for eastern europe. i ♥ cold weather.

I love shoveling snow. It's... I know it's wrong, but I do. I do my place. And the neighbours' walkways. I have my shovel ready.

Of course, the weather here is like Vancouver right now. /baffled

We get at least one winter weather episode even here where I live. We either get a nice little snow storm, or a beautiful dangerous ice storm. The last big snow we had was maybe 5 or 6 years ago where we actually had a foot of snow fall in 24 hours. That's a huge deal for South Carolina. The area was shut down for a week. Most years we will get a couple inches or so, up to six inches at maximum. It would be nice to be somewhere snowy in late December, but alas, we have had temperatures in the seventies almost all of fall. Hope you get to take your trip.

I miss the Rockies, too. I'm not sure I feel the same way about the slush, but I do kind of like it when your jeans get so wet and cold they make your legs itch.
