I've encountered the most inconvenient injury. I am typing with one hand, the left, at the moment and not because i am going to pleasure town! last weekend, I hurt my arm by using the touchpad of my laptop too much. Repetitive stress and all that. I've since picked up a sexy Samsung 20" Widescreen LCD, and am using my Macbook Pro as a desktop with external everything. Very nice setup, except that this weekend when preparing Canadian Thanksgiving, I stupidly worked the hell out of my right arm. It has never hurt more. All up the back of my arm and a bit down my back.

What can I do?

I have an elbow brace but I don't feel that does much. I have extra strength advil, but it still hurts. I have work to do. I need my right arm fully functional. Suggestions on how to deal with an RSI?

I just went through this when I had wrist surgury, only thing I can tell you do it is stretch your wrist, a lot and often.

It'll probably hurt like hell stretching it now, but it'll feel better sooner. ARRR!!!

How come you guys don't like Pleasure Town? It's a great little place to visit.

I get aches in my wrists and hands from playing too much WoW, which may or may not sound familiar. I wear two Tensor wrist bandage thingers now. They help when it hurts, but work best if you use them before it hurts. If you're already at "crippling agony", stop using it until it gets better and do what some of the other people suggest.

Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you had fun. I'm doing the dinner thing this weekend when my grandparents are in town. Canada FTW!

why don't you use a tablet?
Anyway, stop doing everything and meet a chiropratic.
Everytime i get hurts and charley horses playing capoeira or everything else, he suit and settle me up in few minutes.

I have the same problem. Fuckin' track pads.

Go here, to this crappy website and do these stretches. Take at least one five minute break every hour, and get a wrist brace. All that has worked wonders for me.

I've had something similar happen. For the injury, try icing for 15, then applying heat (such as a hot-pack or rice bag from the microwave) for 15. Keep taking the advil, that's what my doctor had me do. Also, get a wrist-rest if you don't have one. Sorry if I repeated what others said.
