I do agree with you. There are quite a few that are almost interchangable. While some I've seen aren't my thing, the fact that they have a place to showcase their uniquenss gives me joy, and some I've seen... are types I have never seen in real life, and might never have if not for this site. Just my 2 cents.

Last week I was comparing the sets that have gone live to what was done in 2005-2006 and there really isn't a comparison. They were also releasing about 2 sets a day instead of one. I miss some of the over the top looks girls would do. Hope others heed your call.

I agree 100%. I'm really torn, actually, because I like some of the remaining authentic SGs, and can relate, being a long-time fringe-dweller myself. But the group I think of as McTitties might as well be Boobbook instead of SG, and the sad thing is, many of those young wannabe women really freak out a year down the road when their nekked-ass self is in everyone's computer and they're back in their suburban paradigm, filled with fear, shame, regret and remorse.

The only winners are the adolescent males who will pay for wet t-shirt contests and buy the 'marge simpson' playboy, and, inevitably, 'upper management' on this site. Neither the original, strong and strange women who forged the core of this site benefit, nor do their replacements. So what to do? have a SGLite? give up and look elsewhere? At least not remaining silent is a start. (and I have posted this opinion on the boards a few times; I quit doing it when I thought that I wasn't going to be heard anymore)

And yes, I miss Elf and fear we'll soon see the last of Doctor, Zippo, Noid and some stunningly creative, interesting women. So thanks for raising this issue again.

maybe you need to actively persue females like this and get them to join the site (i would email photographers and ask them to find the women like you want). they really need to submit material for it to get published. and what are you talking about no fringe girls? did you see the orc woman? who the HELL thinks an orc is hot? WOW players do. its weird, its interesting, it sure as hell is unusual. honestly, i find a lot of these simple, plain, real girls, to be quite beautiful. most of which do not have the faces or body types to be "model models", but thrive here. a woman is beautiful no matter what, and im sure you understand that. (p.s. tryin to be positive!)

I agree. Believe it or not I actually joined the site cause of girls like you. I saw on of your sets on the internet. To be honest I was taken aback by your face and features, by your hair and make up. It pushed the boundaries of what I considered pretty or pleasing to the eye. I cannot remember in which set I saw it , my memory fails me . But I saw a girl with a bifurcated tongue. It freaked me out. I was looking at her tits and ass , when the picture of her tongue came on the slide show and I just went "wow".
It freaked me out , but I came around to it . It changed my point of view.

This sort of highlights something about SG that I think a lot of people don't want to acknowledge. We can have the art/porn debate until Gehenna, but the truth is that SG is a business. (Truth: You can google "california business search," look up SG Services Inc, and that's them right there.) They found their niche, and now they have to grab up as much of that niche as they possibly can. Unfortunately (or not, depending on your perspective), that means that a lot of the girls that don't appeal to the average person likely to join SG aren't going to make it to the front page. Maybe SG was that once, but it's not really anymore. Check out the first season of Californication, a show I love. SG plays a fairly prominent role, and the girl they pick to be representative? Has dyed hair, a nose ring, and a Suicide Girls tattoo. <shrug> Just an ordinary girl with a couple embellishments.

Worth additional consideration is the fact that a lot of people just can't pull off the more extreme looks. They don't have the right facial structure, or any of a dozen other finicky things that our instincts look for to decide if something is attractive or not. That's just one more thing reducing the number of extremely "alternative" girls we'll see on the front page. But, y'know, not everyone can be a Tzimisce. (I'm so glad you get these references.) It's easier to be, dare I say, conventionally attractive. Nothing wrong with either, but cast a wide net like SG does these days and you're going to get more of one than the other.

All that said? I'd be upset if you left the site right after I renewed for a one year membership. And I don't quite understand the urge, either. I know it's frustrating, but don't you feel some pride in being unique even within a group of women largely known for being unique? (Also, those of us who also want the sets you mentioned above are that much less likely to receive them, which means we'll quit, which means fewer will make it through, more girls quit, more members quit, etc.)

I like the rainbow parade you ended your blog with. I can't personally say I agree with you because I have only been around for a short time in comparison to others but yeah I wouldn't mind seeing some more god damn what was that sets and girls. Is the passion and uniqueness gone. Oh and I'm sure you'll agree with this idea. Bathroom sets need to be banned. So over done . But you still rock with the fun coloured hair and "interesting" make-up tricks.

I get your point. I happen to like the "girl next door thing" as well, but yeah... one of the things I joined for was the girls who were way beyond that. The girls with crazy hair, tattoos covering more skin than not, piercings galore doing sets that you would never see elsewhere. Girls who were pushing sexuality and beauty the way very few places were willing to.

It's why a lot of sets that have popped up recently I don't even look at.... I have more fun looking at sets that have never been live or hanging out in the forums :-/

Speaking of RPGs, you haven't happened to read Changeling: The Lost yet, have you? If not, I expect it'd really appeal to you. Awesome new premise for it. In a game now and I'm really enjoying the setting.
