I'm learning to drive. I've gone a very long time without it, and I wish I didn't have to, but it's such a pain in the ass to get around this city without a car and I'm sick of it. No more $50 cab rides! No more stinky bus! I'm hoping to take the test some time this week, and hopefully I pass it.Then freedom. I can actually start going places. I can have a social life outside of work. It will be glorious. Hey maybe I can even take a new set at last since I'll be able to actually meet up with a photographer. I haven't been in Austin long and I work graveyard shift, so I still hardly know anyone. It's tough to get around without a car or friends.

Now my only problem is how the hell to get to the DMV to take the test if I can't legally drive by myself yet. I need to take my car there to take the test, but I can't drive it. Are you supposed to sucker someone into going with you and sitting around at the DMV on a day off? What kind of psycho would go for that? I'm trying to figure out how someone could ride with you there and possibly ride with you back if you fail the test, without actually having to stay there. I've got nothing.
