EDIT: I rarely get hit on by strangers. I think the short hair works well for that. It's only my guy friends that start hitting on me once they get to know me.
Oi! Not to brag because I don't really think its a good thing, but, in response to Lavonne's blog, I also get hit on a lot! I mean, I guess I could take it as a compliment, but it would be nice to just have friends who don't want to have sex with me! Sometimes I feel like guys only want me around so they can oggle. There's a reason I have super short hair. I guess I feel like less of a cookie-cutter object.
A friend was telling me that her 13 year-old niece is absolutely gorgeous and that she is just terrified for the girl because of the dirty world we live in. When I met her, she was definitely stunning and she had hair almost down to her waist. I wanted to tell my friend that she should chop it all off.
It's sad that I feel like I have to change myself in order to avoid getting hit on. I've never done any research, but I'll bet that 90% of the women that get attacked by strange men have long hair.

Oh my god I'm so cheezed off right now. I just saw what could have been my future! I stumbled upon the work of Lori Earley and read her bio. Her work is really stunning and she's had numerous shows and won prestigious scholarships and awards. I remember way back, before I started art school, the portraits that I used to paint. I loved painting them and still want to paint them, but after 4 years at art college the nagging voices of my instructors haunt me. They tell me what to do and what not to do, what is good or bad. All summer I've had this nagging urge to paint portraits but I kept telling myself that "No, this is not going to get me anywhere by indulging in my childhood passion!" Now I'm thinking that if I had never gone to art school, or gone somewhere else, that is exactly what I would be painting and I would be successful, rather than doubting myself at every idea. FUCKING ART SCHOOL!!! I'LL SHOW YOU!!! I'LL SHOW YOU ALL!!!

I went to a bbq with some of my classmates and we are planning a group show at a friends place called The Shed Show! It's going to happen sometime in September. This is exciting that we are going to actually make art together again. We are on our way to becoming a famous and powerful artist collective! All hail the Sensual Revivalists!!!

Has anybody seen A Scanner Darkly yet? How is it? I think I'm going to see it next week.
Haha! We finished the shoot this morning at 2am, and it looks fantastic! I guess you could say that it was a 3 girl shoot, although one of us had slithery scales and a forked tongue. Lavonne and I had to paint the enitre backdrop, which took about 2 hours. We were concerned that it would look really cheezy, but it turned out very classy, which is what we were going for. I can't wait for the set to go up, but that will be a long time from now.

I picked up some gold sparkles and leaf for my multi set that we're doing on Wednesday! I'm thinking of using a spray of sugar and water to get the gold leaf to stick. Has anybody tried sticking gold leaf to skin before, and if so, could you drop me a few pointers?!

So I've decided to get dreads. I'm going to make some synthetic ones and braid them into my own hair. This way, I'll have my long hair that I've been dying to have and I'll either love it enough that I can let it grow out or I'll hate it and keep my hair short.
