Wow! The opening went so well! It's so much fun having all that buzz going on around my work. It was the perfect finish to a long push. My only complaint is that I've lost the feeling in some of my toes from wearing my 8 inch black leather platforms with a gold wedge heel by Fluevog! I stood in them for over 4 hours without sitting down and now I'm suffering the consequences. It was funny talking to some people and feeling such intense pain that I really had to focus! Maybe that's why I remember all of their names!

Anyways, I'm excited to pick up where I left off in the art-making. The final piece that I painted for the show is exactly what I have been trying to accomplish for a while and it took all of the previous work to learn and figure out how to compose my drawing and painting. It's the perfect balance of the rawness of graphite lines and the bright, emotional color of paint (I bought new Fluid Acrylics by Golden and they are beautiful!). The portrait glows with flawless blushing skin and lips. I titled it "I Love You". I'll post photos as soon as I get them back from Lavonne, who did the copyshots. But for now, here is a sneak peek.
