So my latest show is opening tonight! I feel pretty chill until I really start to think about it. I'm so excited! There are so many good things happening. One of the other artists in the show was saying that I could have a solo show with the amount of work that I created. I could have actually used more space! I'm so proud of myself and especially that I managed to stay healthy the entire time. It's quite common for artists to work themselves sick, ending up at their own openings looking like death warmed over. I learned my lesson in art school. Looking like the craziest person in the room and giving off erratic energy is not a good thing despite the stereotype. I make sure to have time to decompress the day of. Today is about coffee at my favorite neighborhood cafe, creating a new work schedule for the coming months, getting gussied up in some crazy boots and a dress, having dinner with the family, then showtime!
It's funny but I was looking at Copro Nason Gallery's website and they have the price of Aurdrey Kawasaki's Rokuro piece and it costs the same as what I will make if I sell out my entire show of 28 pieces! Bahaha! At least I know where I could be in a few years!
Pics to come, but until then...
Here are some pics I found of myself at Shambhala. This is the night-of-all-nights, summoning energy and such.
