Just because I have tattoos, it doesn't mean I don't enjoy or do conventional things. I think so many people associate having tattoos with being vegan, hipster, metalhead, not being good at sports, into indie and metal music (or music no one has heard yet), and just alternative in general.

I have tattoos and I love to golf, hate vegan food (in fact i refuse to eat it, I like meat and grease) I like metal music- but enjoy country more, I've played sports since I was about 5 and am pretty athletic still, I love to golf- it's what I got recruited for college to do, and I'm the farthest thing from hipster that you'll find. I like some 70s music mostly classic rock, but I think hippies look like they smell. I'll be honest. I don't do drugs or smoke, and RARELY drink. And when I say rarely, maybe once or twice a year.

I just feel like people just clump me into this group just because I have tattoos, and I really don't fit in any group. I don't label myself as anything and others shouldn't either. I don't like confining myself to certain limitations like a lot of people under labels do.

I just think it's becoming pretty expected for girls with tattoos to just label themselves and confine themselves to that lifestyle just because it is what society says is expected. I challenge that and say- I'm gonna have lots of tattoos and gauged ears and work for a government agency, have a master's degree, shop at banana republic, and golf in my spare time.

I sound like I'm lecturing, but I'm just tired of people saying they are surprised when I say I golf or that I wanted to trade stocks, or that I love country music, etc.

People even get surprised when I say I don't drink. Someone once told me after they saw my tattoos, "I bet you're a wild one. In bed, yeah, I mean clearly. (ha) But in everyday life? No. I'm pretty boring.
