I thought I would miss dairy too but it makes me so sick and most of my inflammation has disappeared so it is definitely worth it for me.
I always assumed it was lactose that was a problem for me but it turns out it's casein (lactate supplements never worked much to my disappointment).
I really love yoghurt and cheese, they have always been my weakness! But I found an almond yoghurt that is cultured (called amande) and it actually just as good, if not better than high quality dairy yoghurt, and probiotic!
Cheese is a harder one... daiya is okay but it is not cheese.
And I really miss ice cream, but it's okay. Once my body is done getting rid of all the casein (I've read it takes up to 6 months) I will likely treat myself now and then.
For me I really realised I actually can't live without meat unfortunately. I wish I could... I was vegetarian for 7 years and vegan for a year but I was sicker than ever in that time. Mostly I am pescetarian and luckily we've found a butcher that is as ethical as it can get, and only buys whole animals from truly grass-fed and roaming farms.
Anyway, I should stop going on now as I think I bore everyone with my dietry choices these days!
PS It is sad to see all our childhood heroes passing away...
