if it's a bit scary it's probably worth doing. I generally find that if the pressure had you in tears before hand, it's a lot more satisfying to look back on afterwards....

Its really easy to start a business these days but the hard part is maintaining it and making it profitable. If you've got a vision then make it real, don't let anyone hold you back or tell you can't do it not even yourself. You've got a tough road ahead but nothing worth having or worth doing is ever easy.

Are you sure with the business?

"something small" does not sound if you have given it a lot of thought yet.... You should think it through, make a plan and check the plan and then just do it! But in planning a lot of things need to be coevered the worst is the financing. I was once told that most business which do not make do fail because of a short sighted finance plan.
You should be able to finance the first year without the business generating a cent and still be able to survive the second year without real profit... A business needs some time before it is settled in and hasacquired a god sized number of customers.

I say go for it. What kind of business is it? Do you have a financial plan?

Now is always a good time to do what you wish to do. Seen this mentioned before but at the risk of being repetitious please draw up a business plan. If you are not certain what that is do a little interweb searching and you will sort it pretty quick. Then compose a mission statement that is in line with your business plan and let her rip.

Every successful venture i know of started with a solid plan and mission. They are the stars to steer by, if you take my meaning. Essential if you want to avoid getting lost, and also to keep you pointed where you really want to end up.
