just so everyone knows.. i'm still alive! i apologize for the lack of updates, i've been busy... growing.

in october, i visited this couple who lives near my hometown in ohio. they have built their own earthship, which is a form of "natural" building that uses earth-packed used tires as the foundation. they are stacked on one another, then covered in a cob plaster (sand, clay straw). they have a little farm with goats, alpacas, and chickens and some vegetable gardens.

really nice people, they give tours of their little homestead to the public.

recently went to our local conservatory to see some work by Chihuly featured among the plant life. my camera died after taking 2 photos, before we even got into the conservatory..

but here are those 2 simple photos anyway:

you should check out Chihuly's work, he does some mind blowing things with glass.

i hope everyone is doing well, i must get back to calculus and chemistry related things.

I hear that those houses are super efficient and almost self regulater their internal temps.

I sell tires and had a customer ask me for old used tires, but unfortunately we can't just give used tires away in CA. They have to be given to a liscensed tire recycler.

Yay belly
There are quite a few wonderful rammed earth homes here in town. They were all designed to maximize seasonal comforts with window exposures and levels as well as flooring and roofing designs. Still very pricey here though

They have Chihuly's exhibits at the Arizona Desert Botanical Gardens, it's all lit up at night... I missed it though, definitely sad.

Awwww, congratulations on the bubby.
Yeah I haven't been around much myself, hehe

That first pic of Chihuly's looks remarkably similar to the bowls I made in ceramics at high school. I've given all of them away to different people who love them, good homes as it were.
Note to self: I need to take photos of my works.
Anyway, here's hoping you have a lovely, healthy, baby
