So,

my best friend got married and I was her maid of honor. It was a very nice wedding and a lot of fun.
and, i didnt have to wear a hideous dress

she was such a pretty bride

Stuff I want for my birthday:
- a gym membership
- health insurance!
- a hair cut
- new chef pants

I don't know what i want to do for my birthday though. I have to work all weekend anyway.

Work is going well. I'm trying to make some new specials. I made an Irish car bomb cupcake (chocolate stout cake, whiskey ganache, and a "shot" of baileys frosting on top) but people were a little overwhelmed by it and it didnt sell. The owner thought it was great though, but alas if the customers dont buy it, we wont keep making it. The mojito cupcake I made yesterday did sell out though, but Im not sure if it was because people really liked it or if it was because we had few cupcakes out. I thought it was yummy. Lime cake with a lime and mint frosting with a hint of rum.

If you could have any kind of cupake right now, what would it be?

great photos. that looks kind of like palos verdes. i went to a wedding there like a year ago.

as far as the cupcakes go, i think you are on the right track with the booze cupcakes. can you make a gin martini cupcake?

I'm very fond of chocolate and peanut butter. Rocky Road might be yummy, too. Both traditional, but I'd try them. One of the girls at work made chocolate covered clusters of peanuts, mini marshmallows, and peanut butter cap'n crunch cereal last week. The cereal worked really well for that.

That American chocolate one with the frosting on top that has that swirly white design going across it. I think it's in the same family as twinkies?

I miss twinkies too. And decent root beer. And Oreos, when I can't find them.

mmm cupcakes! i am on a diet so i wouldn't have any, but if i was allowed, i'd have a vanilla and chocolate swirl cupcake from my local bakery. YUM. x

Booze cupcakes, huh? Well, I like rum and coconut. My lazy man's drink a few weeks ago was a rum & coke made with coconut rum and cherry coke zero--very delicious. Cherry coconut rum = easy flavor combo for cupcakes, right? Don't know about how the cola part would translate to baked goods...

Ok,

Here ya go. A Tequila Sunrise Cupcake.

Orange/Lemon cake with an orange liquor donut frosting glaze, toped with a tequila lime/orange zest whip cream, and a thin wedge of candied orange. Make sure to cook out most of the alcohol when you make the glaze and the simple syrup with tequila, lime and orange zest. Otherwise, it will be to strong.
