thanks for your german expressionist films recommendations!
I made a list with all of them:

  • Faust F.W. Murnau

  • The Testament Of Dr. Mabuse Fritz Lang

  • Die NibelungenFritz Lang

  • M, Ein Stadt sucht ein MörderFritz Lang

  • Edvard Munch Peter Watkins. (not an expressionnist german film but related and interesting)

I put them all in my wishlist wink
and, I need to watch Metropolis again.

For those who mentionned the exhibition at la cinémathèque française, yes! I'll go there in january! So excited! Apparently they have rebuild some of the Dr. CaliGari's settings shocked

Look at that, It's the first page of comic strip I've ever finished in my life!
I tried to do some before but never make it too the end because I thought they were too bad...

(click on it to see a bigger version!.... shit, I just noticed it isn't the real final version here... but you get the idea.)
This time it was for a wokshop at school with a great finnish comic strip author, Kaisa Leka.
We had to do a one-page story about a shameful moment of our life... oink

It was fun doing this comic strip but the best was meeting Kaisa Leka. She's just radiant and impressed me a lot.

Nya :3
See you... soon.
and don't do too much shopping for Christmas.

Kaisa Leka sounds hardcore. She became a double amputee? Crazy. Inspiring, though. And she has a cool website biggrin

Sometimes I sit and think about my options if I was to lose any sort of sense or limb. Morbid, but true. Like, if I was going blind I'd have to concerntrate on nothing but music and my drumming. If I was losing my hearing then obviously it would move into a visual medium; painting or photography. I'm trying to dabble more and more in all different mediums all the time. Not so much spreading myself thin but I just see it as learning a new language, whether it be through music or the lens of a camera.

I am on a big film rush as of late. I watched Luis Bunuel's The Phantom of Liberty last night. Real good, not as good as The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, though.

The Criterion Collection has so much great stuff, the only downside being you often can't find the films they have to rent so you can watch them and decide if you like them before hand. Here's the page for Mabuse.

Eyes Without A Face, though not a German expressionist film, is also a Criterion disc and absolutely kicks ass.

I'd just finally like to say that I don't think I got back to your recognition and appreciation of Guillermo Del Toro but I'm extremely impressed that you know of him and his work. He's one of my biggest film related inspirations, not just because of the purely technical film stuff but his philosophies and thoughts on life in general. So, that said, he could be classed as a life inspiration. I fucking love the guy. I'm sending a resume in to try and get work on the second Hellboy movie. If it's of any interest, he's got a blog here that he'll get back to updating I'm sure once he's finished promotion on Pan's Labyrinth.

Righto, I'm spent, thank you for reading biggrin

^PS - In the comic I absolutely adore the panel with the little poo outline. Genius!

capricornus is so totally right about Nosferatu, as well.

Hey dear,

funny story/comic, so that was you, when?
And you hid it for 4 years, wow....did your mom ever asked about it or did you tell her sometime later?

Do you have more photos of you wearing that underwear like in spoiler-pic 2 here, with the bones on it, looks very nice....

I went to Paris for just 1 day/night last week, was great to be there in the middle of the city but too bad I didn't see anybody I know....next time....
I had fun anyway with my friends from Voicst, just us 5 in the van, after the show we went to an Irish pub ("Pub Le Truskel" on 2e Arr., Rue Feydeau! Near the show place.) without ANY Irish people inthere but packed with a crazy mix of all kinds of people, even a karaoke things was going on in the second room, crazy!! Too bad we had to leave to go to the hotel outside of Paris....in the morning went shopping for breakfast and then back to The Netherlands....where I ended up on a party, nice seeing good friends again....

Yes....nice times inbetween all hectic troubled days/weeks/months....finally....
