Holy Crap! I've been locked out of the site for a fuckin' week! I have no idea how I survived- it was a terrible, terrible experience.Actually the whole week has pretty much been a wash. I got my car broken into and all my CDs stolen, I've got the sniffles, and I can't write very much cause I'm due at practice in like five minutes. More later.

OK, I'm back. At least for a minute, since if I don't take Kittens to play frisbee soon i think he'll start a riot. I did Dante's for the first time sunday, which was fun (although niether of my sets went as planned).
Also exciting- Sataurday i finally get to see the sleeve Jennifer at Atlas has been designing for me. YIPPEE!!!
Also as soon as I figure out how to add pics on this new version I'll get some up that i shot for Aya's website (which is down right now but recovering). She makes the bestest hairpieces ever. I'll get those up tonight. For now, I go to play repetetive fetching games.

And so the Portland rainy season kick in with, well, rain. Rain and a surprising amount of darkness. I had almost adjusted to the fact that the sun goes down at nine and gets back up again at five (kinda like my grandparents), when suddenly it's dark all the time. In the South there just isn't that much variation between summer and winter.
Went out to diner Friday with some of the girls- got to meet Brandy for the first time (which happened to be her 21st birthday), andViolet plus hang out with the regular girls- Stormy, Siren, Mia, Snow, Lux, and a few others as well. Nothing like an evening surrounded by lovely ladies to make you happy!
Last night I went to the Extremo the Clownshow at noctournal. I like the guy's art (and of course his car), but the live show mostly consisted of a very drunk Extremo doing karaoke to the Dazed and Confused soundrack while waving a puppet head on a stick.
Ah, the wonders of Portland nightlife.

Well, very few of you came out to theshow. Which is probably all for the best, as Murphy's Law was plaugeing us all night. Actually, all week. Still, you all missed some funny shit, like my drunk ass hula-hooping right into the DJ and terrifying the giant worm as crap went crashing everywhere. Also tankboi in overalls and a straw hat being anally probed by the Tarts.Faith came out to support us (her troop has next Wednesday's slot), and was incredible gorgeous and sweet. All in all it wasn't the best Tarts show ever, but it was still lots of fun.
LATER
I put up a few pics from the show- should be the last three pics.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Update the 'ol journal.
I'm cooking a lovely lasagne with what appears to be the last of summer's veggies- tomatoes and zucchini and spinach and fresh herbs. The garden is looking pretty ragged out and ready for a few months of rest and composting. Taking a slightly restful break (if cooking counts as restful) between work and rehearsal.
I think this weekend I might actually get to spend a little time at home. Which is good as I sort of abandoned the whole basement project slap in the middle to deal with all the other shit that's currently demanding my attention.

Why, why is it not the Simpsons season premier tonight? Life is SO unfair.
Pandora sprained her ankle in class, so she's out of the show Wednesday. We've got another girl to fill in, but that means a lot of catching up so it looks like practices after work the next couple of days and most of Wednesday. I still think we can pull off a really good show, though. But she'll probably be out through the Halloween show, which sucks as it's the one most of us have been really looking forward to.

Ok, let's see here. Today I made four alien breathing masks, found all the raw materials for the rayguns (I should finish those tonight after I figure out where my roomie hid the glue gun), made some calls regarding the rest of the breathing apparatus (I need a bunch more two-liter bottles), choreographed the invasion (nearly breaking my nose in a poor raygun toss), and realized that my entire part of the show over which I am so stressing and building such cool outfits lasts roughly three minutes. God, how do animators not just kill themselves?
Building numerous alien costumes for this wednesday's show. Does anyone out there have a large supply of dryer tubing they'd like to get rid of? Or bubblewrap or neon green anything? Perhaps neon green bubblewrap, which would rock my fuckin' socks off....
So yeah, that's basically what I'm doing. Listening to music with sci-fi themes and funny sound effects and generally trying to figure out how to organize a full-scale invasion in six days.
WHY is there no alien smilie???? Oh wait....

Ok, another day off from work so of course I'm working way harder than I would be there. Two more coats of red on the walls, and I think that part of the room is done. Flyers made for the next Cherry Tarts show, posted in my pics, done. Deliver for printing tonight on the way to practice. Halloween costume started. (But i'm giving away no secrets until the day. Noone is stealing my costume, dammit!) So all in all I'm nearly out of stuff to do before heading to Kinko's. Crikey.
Taking short break from piling eight billion coats of red paint onto my walls. Very hard to maske a deep red deep against white walls. I tried a dark undercoat, but it looked really funny.
Also I uploaded more pics from my SF trip. Mostly they include me hugging my friend Lee in various drunken situations.
