Off to Vegas for the boy's birthday- so far we plan on doing drugs, jumping out of airplanes, and shooting automatic weapons. Anybody got any other suggestions?

It's a sleepy New Year in San Fransisco, as Fail Tour 2008 rolls to a close. Remind me to never, never, declare Fail Tour again.

Here's to a better start to this year than last year's drunken assholery, and a New Year spent building things instead of just trying to heal wounds. I think i'm finally feeling back on my feet enough to do that with some confidence. I'm looking forward to the future, both for myself and for my country.

Be careful out there tonight, kids!

I have been MIA over the holidays, which came with mixed blessings. The holiday itself was lovely, spent with TheRightBastards family eating too much. Fatdog was charming and ridiculous and begged so much food I found the boys mom cooking her scrambled eggs for breakfast. However, she did have a little fainting spell I suspect was a stroke, although it didn't seem to phase her, and after we got home Christmas night she went to sleep and didn't get back up.

She was my constant companion for almost fifteen years, and I will miss her enormously. There is a whole different kind of quiet in the house now, and every couple of hours I still think I should get up and take her out. I know it will pass, and that I couldn't have asked for a better last couple of days for her, or a quicker or less traumatic death. She went out like a lady, as she did everything, and for that I will always be profoundly thankful.

Random news:

G4s "Attack of The Show" came out to the SG book signing last week. The episode airs today on G4 (G4techTV in Canada and Fuel TV in Australia), with interviews with Missy, courtneyriot, and Fractal and I, among others. If you don't get G4, the episodes usually hit Hulu pretty quickly.

The new Guns n Roses video debuts today, and word from those who have already seen it is that I'm in it for a half second or so- it seems they used some SG Live footage from the last tour.

Holy crap! Haute Macabre has gotten a thousand hits in the two days since it went up! That almost makes our obsessive posting worthwhile. We have also added Zoetica as a contributor, because she TOTALLY didn't have enough on her plate.

The Internet being what it is, and me being a terrible addict, I recently set up a Tumblr blog. For those of you that haven't played on it yet, it's a short-form blog with pictures, etc. I mostly set it up so that I could folow a number of really great erotic photo blogs I found over there.But feel free to follow me there as well. I'll also be sending my Tweets there, and short bits from my normal blog.

And, in other blog-related news, Fractal and I will be coauthoring a dark fashion blog: Haute Macabre. We just set it up, so there isn't much there yet, but Oh there will be....

I went to the new SG book signing tonight in Hollywood, and got my copy (which I then had a blast getting signed as if it was a yearbook). Now I'm sitting at home looking through it and I have to say- I'm really, really proud of this site. The book is gorgeous. And everyone in it is so different, so uniquely lovely, and so perfectly real and flawed and human. These are my friends, my coworkers, sometimes even the thorns in my side, and I am really awed by all of them right now. The fact that five years ago I don't think this book could have happened at all, much less have had this kind of reception, and now it exists, makes me genuinely happy to have been a part of it.
