SF Wondercon this weekend!

Now, if you will excuse me, I have suddenly got a bug up my butt to learn Actionscript, so I'll be over here beating my head on the wall while trying to convince simple geometric shapes to do my bidding.

Start learning AS3 or don't learn any at all. I learned AS2 and it's already dead and gone and I don't know enough flash anymore.

I find solidworks fairly easy to learn, and it has lessions built in. Have fun at wondercon.

Actionscript is fun. Try Keith Peter's book "making things move". It'll take you from zero to hero in no time. Plus the material is really fun instead of the rather drab actionscript they teach in most examples.

ActionScript is a painful language, but it's getting better. If you can avoid needing to know the older versions, you'll be a much happier girl.

Actionscript is not painful at all. It's a bit of a learning curve, and you have to play by its rules, but it's a much more pleasant language to use than the rickety old Javascript.
