some of the older macbooks have crazy discoloration issues. they replaced the plastics for free at the apple store when i worked there.

You should really give in a buy a new aluminum body multitouch MacBook - get a SSD drive and max the ram like I did and it positively purrs I just switched to Mac and heck yeah I'm never going back to PC (except when I'm forced to at work). As to the color shift, have you had the MacBook exposed to a lot of direct sunlight or harsh chemicals? That would be my guess as to the cause...

no, I have a white macbook...but a quick google search turned up a ton of complaints about black macbooks turning orange. If you bought it at apple.com....I'd give them a call and see what they'll do for you. If you're totally beat...I have a newer white macbook that doesn't work, but is good for parts...and maybe you could fix it with that.

No but the black on my Blackberry has done the exact same thing! It's gone a browny orange colour which looks shit considering the rest of the phone is pink
