Nixon tastes like one half a road trip.

Remarkably not hung-over considering the ridiculous amount of alcohol I drank last night...I got to drink real Absinthe from Europe. It's far stronger and more bitter than it's US counterparts like Perdod and Absinte. I was very drunk but there's a surprising lucidity to an Absinthe drunk. Also when I finally went to bed (about six am) the darkness seemed to be flashing around me, and my dreams were very strange. In spite of the taste, I can see how people love the stuff.

PS- for those of you curious about getting some, the green fairy lives here.

Yes Pernod and the like are so.. so .. so not like what you get from Europe. Where did you get the real thing at?

Drinking that all night till 6am. God help me the hangover I would be suffering today.

Sooooo toxic though. I drank half a fifth of Pernod once and was ill for days. Can't imagine what the real stuff is like.

I heard that there's something in the wormwood extract (thujone?) that affects the brain like THC...throw that on top of the 50%-75% alcohol, and you're bound to have a good time biggrin

I have a few friends that have been talking alot about the experiments with Absinthe, it sounds cool as hell, but I haven't had the balls to try it yet. I think I will order some real soon though... kiss

That's kind of funny because just yesterday I was talking with a friend of mine about how we haven't had absinthe in a very long time (He used to get big bottles in Europe and not quite smuggle, but sneak it back over when he went over with his parents.). Sadly though his parents don't go over as much anymore (At least not with him.), so now I think we'll be ordering some. biggrin Good times we had...

Your party went great then, I take it? I'm really sorry I couldn't make it, I suck and had to be out of town. frown
