Whoa, the winds of change, they are a-blowin'.
Ahem.
So, new job realised they'd made a major fuckup and also realised I was thisclose to leaving. So they've offered me a different position. I've taken it for now, although I don't like the people I work with as the pros outweigh the cons. It's a 10 minute walk from home, and I'm allowed to dye my hair whatever colour I want and they haven't got a problem with tattoos. Not that I can afford them, but it's the principle of the thing.
Although they HAVE just restricted our internet access to, well, nothing at all, which pisses me off majorly. All I do is check my bank account and my emails occasionally. I'm still one of the most productive staff on the desk, and I've only been there three weeks. *eyeroll*
Did a night at the lovely Central Chambers (where Sinope and I shot our multi Scandal) last night. It's a lovely club, there's nothing wrong with it, but I really, really just don't fit in. I'm too old for all of it (yes, yes, I know I'm only 25 and I know girls in their 30s who are still dancing, but I feel too old.). I don't do hustling, I'm not interested in the boring conversation 95% of the men have AT you and I just didn't enjoy myself. I'm also used to dancing to my own music (Garbage, NIN, Radiohead, you get the picture) and it wasn't possible to do that, you just go on stage when you've time and dance to whatever's playing. I personally DESPISE R&B and Hip Hop and that's all they played. Except for the TaTu song which I recognised and enjoyed. But then that's the dirty lady-lover in me.
So, that's it, folks. No more dancing for 'Rissa. I won't say NEVER because who knows what financial problems I might end up in in future (and it definitely IS a way of making money quickly) but unless I'm in a REALLY tight financial bind, I won't be lap dancing again. Still keen to do some burlesque work involving a pole as I do love dancing on stage, and enjoy using a pole as a prop, but on my terms, not a club's.
The worst thing was the positively disgusting reaction to my tattoos and the fact my hair is "short" (shoulder-length). Oh, and the pointed Betty Page fringe. The pure disrespectful treatment from many of the punters was just...gross. Laughing in a girl's face, pointing at a tattoo and shouting "eeeww" and telling her she should look like the others is disgusting, caveman behaviour. I've never experienced it as badly as last night. It was probably just the people we had in, as the club has a very good reputation and attracts all sorts, but I can't get over the rudeness of the men. And some of the women who came in, as well.
So, Rissa's hanging up her dancing shoes. I'm keeping a couple of outfits for modelling purposes but the rest will be going into the SG Sales and Swap Meet groups so if you're in the market for stripper wear or just plain sexy lingerie keep an eye on those groups.
