I think so. I have female friends that are purely platonic. I think sex makes it more complicated, but not impossible. I think a girl could be one of the guys, but usually not if she's having sex with one of the guys. In my case, if a girl makes it into the "one of the guys" zone it usually means we're never going to be having sex. At least not, unawkward probably won't regret in the morning sex.

Anyone who says it can't work is going by When Harry Met Sally logic. There's obvious hetero/homo divide but that's only in answer to the sex question. Taking sex out of it completely, there's guy girl team mates, competitors, office workers, business owners that share the same interests and maintain a social contract that doesn't forbid sex or require it that bond over a whatever have you.

One way to get friends of the opposite gender I find hilarious is the friend divorce. If a friend of yours has a companion that they split with after years and years of being together, you don't break off contact with either of them but have to observe the separation.

I think the degree of difficulty escalates dramatically if there's an attraction on either side, but it is possible to maintain a friendship even when that's the case. The existence of spouses/significant others also tends to increase the challenge, even when attraction is not an issue. Folks who think it will be easy are fooling themselves, but that's true of friendship in general.

Vintage you definitely gets me all hot and bothered.

I'm friends with a lot of women; we hang out, have supper, go out to movies etc. but one thing all these relationships have in common is that we've slept together.

I've noticed that friendships of the opposite sex that didn't start off with sex or aren't going to become sexual at one point (and then cease) are harder to maintain and harder still to have blossom into long solid go-to-in-times-off-trouble relationships.

I've been friends with a girl now for 5 years and we've never had sex but the first few months/years of our relationship was rocky mostly because she was incredibly jealous of whoever I dated and was pretty nasty to one particular girlfriend I had. We weathered that and have been solid friends and she is now in a relationship but I can't help but think that if ever the two of us are single again at the same time we might hook up. It's just the feeling I have.

Firstly, can we Co-exist weather sexual/non sexual as friends? Of course, we do so now today. Perhaps not very comfortably but we do. There is a significant difference between remaining faithful and remaining celibate. I have been cheated on, and since have learned that while it does hurt, we are still able to forgive even if it is 5 years down the road. That is why our grandmothers and grandfathers stayed together for so long, they never gave up on one another. In turn they were able to attain a relationship we are so busy searching footer and so willing to leave another to find. So in a way, we have been doing this all along, it is just we have not been able to see it that way, and avoid getting hurt, fort pain is only human nature.

Then can one off the girls be one of the guys? Of course! Tom boys are amazing and the perfect zombie plan survivor. Imagine a woman who can shoot, run, eat, and speak as a man but still be a woman. Lol kinda why I like SG, but anywho. What you do in life makes you who you are in personality, your beauty, careful nature, and physical form are what make you a woman. Not insinuating that women are items, only that that item is what makes the difference.

Most of the friendships I've had with girls in which we've gotten fairly close has always involved some sort of sexual tension. I don't know if that's just because of me though, heh. Regardless, there was always a lot of flirting, even if nothing came of it. Haven't really gone down the friends with benefits road yet.
