work, work, work, work, work, work, work, work, work.
(I love how words lose all meaning after you say them enough)

But yes, I've been working a lot. At least I'm getting to play at the same time and enjoying my favorite time of year for a whole month rather than just one day. This madness is going to last all through october.....but I have it much better than many who are working the same event as me; I have the luxury of not having to work my normal job on the days that I'm working the event nights....good thing too, because I'd be a zombie due to the lack of sleep (I need it) and that's not what I play. That's not to say that the zombies have it easy either.

So between work, work, sleep, and screaming and running for my life in my spare time (they always go after me, why?) there isn't much left. Responsible me will return at the beginning of November. Thank you.

I saw my sweetums, armyofrobots off early this morning for his week-long trip to vegas. I was originally supposed to come along but I just couldn't afford the fare. So sad. Of course it's not like I don't have plenty to do at home. I just love to travel and haven't been able to go anywhere since a year and a half ago when I went to L.A. When I finally start selling more of my work I'll be traveling all over the place. Yep yep! I can't stay in one place for too long without getting anxious.

As for the digital painting special I'm holding, thanks to everyone who has already paid me for the commissioned paintings. I've had a better turnout than I ever thought I would....I imagined having to beg people by the end of the week. Instead now I have my work cut out for me. I will keep everyone up to date on what's going on with each of your paintings so do try to be patient. I promise I will get them all finished as soon as I am able....but perhaps my biggest flaw is that I'm such a perfectionist that I'll spend hours and hours on a piece no matter how much the charge. This is probably also a good exercise in restraint tongue

Keep in mind the deadline for $20 commissioned digital paintings is tonight, so get your payments in. I'd be nuts to go half off again anytime in the near future because of the amount of work I put in each.

Well, back to work <3

I will paint you for $20

This isn't something that I normally do. In fact commissions go for a bit more (at least twice as much depending on the time spent on a piece) but I reaaallly need money right now. In fact, the offer only stands until September 5th, so hurry and get your requests in asap!

The $20 flat rate is for an 8X10 digital painting. You choose the subject(s) and color pallet and any other details. The only limitations I'm placing on this is that it can't be too complex, but feel free to contact me about your ideas. Chances are I'll be okay with what you want.

So if you want to have a neat picture of yourself, friend, family member, character you created, or just about anything else you can think of contact me and I can make it happen.

Go to my art folder to see what I've done in the past:

Webcomic! Up! Now!

Go look:

Charles and Darwin

I can't even tell you the amount of frustration the creation of that site brought me.....at least I finally figured out CSS. How I loved when the simple rules to CSS finally came together and actually made sense. I just don't understand why none of the online tut's actually explained it as plainly and simply as it actually is. I was like "well shit, if I had known it was this easy I would have started using CSS ages ago."

Pssssh

Oh well, enjoy <3

What a coincidence, Discovery channel, I'm having my shark week too!
(which may explain my need to rant endlessly about the unimportant)

While eating a bowl of life cereal this morning, flipping through the friday entertainment section of the local paper I saw something that both made me laugh and die a little on the inside. The new mummy movie - which at the moment is at 10% fresh on rottentomatoes.com - recieved 3 1/2 stars (out of 4). This paper also happened to rate Iron Man and The Dark Knight with 3 stars each.
I guess it isn't fair to get my undies bunched in a knot over this without seeing the new mummy movie, but really(?)....a mindless summer action flick, no doubt filled with your typical action one-liners is better than two astonishingly well executed and thought out comic book movies? Somehow I'm a little skeptical.

I've always known the writers for this local paper can't write for shit, but now I realize that they hire critics who don't appear to even watch the movies. At least that would be my guess.

The radio stations around here have pissed me off with their mindless, ill-informed remarks on just about everything - and bad choices of music - so much that I went with sirius a little while back, I wish there was a similar alternative for the local paper.

I hate this town.

Don't forget about my ebay auction for the Heath Ledger/ Joker oil painting!

I've been trying out traditional arts recently. Oil painting has become my newly favorite medium. True, digital painting may be a bit easier on many levels but I just don't find it as rewarding. Something about just jumping in there and getting your hands dirty makes it all that much better.

It is probably because of that rewarding feeling that I've been slow to sell any of my original works, but a recent lack of money has suddenly motivated me towards a change in heart.

and with that I now present to you the first oil painting of mine that I am attempting to sell:

oh, Heath! Why did you have to to leave us?

I'll put others up soon.
