1. Daniel got me addicted to Echo Bazaar. Now I wish my phone had better Internet access (I'm not even complaining, I only pay $40 and have unlimited texts and calls and can check my email pretty easily, but that's about it) so I could use the site while on the train or sitting on the couch or whatever. Anyway, if any of y'all are on there or join let me know!

2. My weekend was really good. We went to the Notre Dame game on Saturday, had lots of really good food and good company and just generally had a fun time. Also, I started reading Hearts in Atlantis on Saturday night and tore through it, finishing it yesterday evening. I mostly only enjoyed the first and last story, though I didn't dislike the other two. Now I'm reading Bag of Bones, which I'm enjoying so far. Still, I miss reading about Roland and especially Jake, who was my favorite character. I'm also not sure how I feel about Ron Howard doing the Dark Tower on both film and TV. I'm pretty sure he's not the best choice for it.

3. This month is going to continue to be interesting. Things coming up: job interview this week, my birthday on the 21st, a party (I think) this weekend, and next month both an awesome friend and my Dad will be visiting.

4. Though I gotta say, I'm having a little bit of that "oh god, am I going to turn 28 and not even have a job?" feeling. Stupid economy.

5. That's about it for updates!

Re#4. I've been there, lemme tell ya. Hell, i'm there now. I'm turning 35 this year and i work at a fucking Pizza Hut. NOT where i pictured myself at this point in life. This economy sucks, but we gotta do what we can.

I think years from now, when we all have a better perspective, people will look back on this time and feel much better about the situations they were in. You're definitely not alone. Good luck with the interview!

If it's any consolation, there are a lot of people in the same jobless situation, like both of my sisters.

"Bag of Bones" was pretty good. I agree about "Hearts In Atlantis"

I started rocking Echo Bazaar a couple weeks ago. I loved the theme from the get go, but I wasn't going to sign up when it was Twitter only - I refuse to do Twitter. At least I already had Facebook, even if I barely use it. I wish they had a built in login system because there's a lot of my friends I think would reaally like it, but they haven't got an account with any sort of social networking site and refuse to sign up on principle.

It's really blowing my mind. It's so simple on the face of it, yet there's so much going on and so much cool stuff to encounter. Games like Mafia Wars felt like pointless grind almost immediately (and the requirement to invite tons of friends didn't help). This one...at the rate they update versus the rate I can play, I'd be surprised if it ever runs out. I'll probably even spend some money on it, if only to support the developers, something which I certainly had no desire to with Zynga.

I will say - by and large I like not knowing what might happen next, but I do wish I knew if I could safely sell some of the piles of stuff I've been accumulating so that I could fund the purchase of, e.g., laudanum or weasels.

Have you read the short story with Roland in it? Also, are we the same age? I <3 Roland of Gilead.

Good luck on the job. I take it you were cheering on the Irish, seeing as though you didn't call it the Michigan game, eh? Pity about Montana not living up to his name so far.

"The Little Sisters of Eluria" is the name of the short story. It's in one of King's more recent anthologies.

Ok you got me hooked on the Echo Bazaar game, and since I don't know anyone else who is playing I need to start following your twitter account, what is it?
