1. Apparently I hate my own brain because I am currently set to read three books in a row about genocide. I stopped reading one of them at 2am last night and then wondered why I was having trouble sleeping. I got so freaked out I had to go sit in the bathroom with Daniel while he took a bath because I didn't want to be alone. They're good books, but I'm going to have to go a couple of weeks after finishing them reading some funny fiction or something.

2. I'm taking a short break from beer; which is a good feeling. I figure that once I'm working I'll be cutting down quite a bit anyway, so I might as well get started sooner rather than later. Generally we have a friend or two over and grab beer for certain TV nights (Daisy of Love and Hung on Sundays, Top Chef and Real World on Wednesdays, for example) and have beer here and there in between. I haven't decided if I'll have beer this Sunday for our TV night but it's good to go a bit without.

3. Yes, we watch terrible TV.

4. I suppose eventually I'll have to fix my sleep schedule, too. Can't be starting to get ready for bed at 1am when I'm working.

5. I had the strangest dreams last night. They felt so real that a couple of times I actually woke up and thought I had been hallucinating instead, or that the stuff in the dream actually happened (which was impossible because the stuff happening in the dreams was stuff like our kitchen being full of potted plants, us having two dozen small furry animals as pets, and our bedroom wall becoming a giant billboard ad for The Simpsons).

6. And those aren't even close to the weirdest dreams I've ever had, either.

1. I just started a book on Wal-Mart and how it is single handedly affecting the economy and way of life ---- clearly I have had nightmares since.

2. Real World is pretty good this season. It looks like they all have a freak out.

Oh gawd, I always have nightmares when reading stuff like that.
I usually have to stop reading them waaaayyy before dark, and follow them with some hilarious stupidity, or I will never get sleep tongue

Heh, interesting dreams. I haven't had a good vivid dream in quite a while. I used to have them a lot more about 10 years ago, but not quite so many now. I chalk it up to being in university and having my brain engaged a lot more than it is these days!

1. I was in a play about children in a death camp during the Holocaust. That one stayed with me long time.

2. Don't worry, I'll pick up the slack on the beer for you.

3. Some killjoys say all TV is terrible. To them I say neener.

4. Being a grown up is poopy sometimes.

5. The only dreams that are painfully real for me are the scary ones. frown

I haven't seen Hung, but I have trouble believing it, at least, is terrible. HBO has had such amazing success at producing worthwhile TV. (The tail end of Oz, and Curb Your Enthusiasm notwithstanding.)

Hypnogogic sleep can be so bizzare and confusing!

I recall a very vivid dream from college where a puppy got into my room and was on my chest, licking my face with the worst doggy breath, so slobbery but also cute, and when I could finally move to try to pet it and move it.... *POOF* > gone. A dream.

After some of my own traumas, I find I can't read very graphic sad traumatic stuff like that - you are a stronger woman than I, for sho.

Yes, I've got to cut back on the beering as well... confused

Have you been watching Top Chef masters? I'm absolutely loving the friendly nature of the show. I want to take Art Smith home with me.

No, I've never seen that, actually. It was I Never Saw Another Butterfly. Upbeat title, huh?

That's what BitTorrent is for. (Although I confess to not having liked the little Dexter I've seen. The first two books were great, but the TV series did not capture that magic for me.)
