I had an excellent day. Hung out with Lewicide for awhile, and am now having a beer and watching the episode of Pushing Daisies that I missed on Wednesday.

So, how was your Halloween, everyone? Mine was fairly uneventful, but I ended up having a pretty decent evening/night anyway. Chatted with some friends and that made me happy. I ended up having a terrible case of insomnia overnight and weirdass dreams when I did finally get to sleep, but luckily I could sleep in.

When I was a kid, I used to wish that I could have a big farm or apartment complex where all of my friends and loved ones could live. I still kind of have that wish, though the whole thing would have to be expanded into a city. And the city would have to have different sections with weather control, so people who liked warm weather could live in one area and people who enjoy snow and cold on occasion could live in another. And then of course each friend would have to bring along their own friends and loved ones, and it would end up being a whole world packed into one space. It would probably be very dysfunctional in the end, but the Utopian idea of it is still a really nice fantasy. I know all these amazing people all over the world. I wish I could see them anytime I wanted to.

I have been pining on and on about teleporters lately, and it's not just because I wish yorickfinn were closer. It's also because I wish I could see my friends more often, because one of my best friends is Tororo but I've never actually gotten to meet him, because I've met all these great people through this site and LJ and all kinds of other places and it would be nice to actually hang with them, and because I have friends in other cities that I miss. It's all of those reasons and more. And also because teleporting all over the place would be fucking awesome. Hopefully it would make a cool science-fiction type noise every time you left and every time you arrived.

Or maybe I should just wish that I could apparate and disapparate!

My desperation to find a job has made me think of this image:

I don't do Halloween. But last night was painfully boring. In a way I'm grateful because I had so much fun on the 30th, I really needed a break. Oh ans one more thing kiddo... You're not the only one who's desperate, I haven't had a steady job in over a year. A gig here and there, but that's all. blackeyed

We should create an enterprise or something.

You just need to figure out what your niche is.

I have gimp at home in Alabama. When I get back next week I am going to play around with it. Or make my own. Whatever.

Hallowe'en included a kid dressed up as Obama. "Don't forget to vote for me. And trick or treat!"

Sadly for him, I told him I couldn't vote.

I'd guess the kid was around 11 or 12 maybe. I heard the father ask, 'Did you remind him to vote for Obama?' from the sidewalk. Like they have to worry in this part of California.
