Okay, so lots of news tidbits.
1. I promise not to pimp constantly, as spamming is fucking annoying, but everyone please go check out my set in member review, Mechanic's Break. This set is a bit of a tribute to Firefly's lovely Kaylee, who I think is a really inspiring character, because she kicks butt, but is also vulnerable and not afraid to express the fact that she is a sexual person. In a way, Kaylee is a pretty awesome feminist icon. The set was shot by the wonderful Boris Starosta (Google him! He also shot my "Andy Rogeny" and "Alley" sets). Dot photoshopped it, and I owe the awesome hoodie at the end to tadkil, who is one of the most awesome SG members around. Anyone, none of that "vote for me" shit, but if you like the set, please do leave some positive feedback, because I would love to see it go live on the site. It is the first set I've shot in about two years, and I like it, and I want it to go on the front page!
2. Health stuff. If you haven't read about my crazy "it's either Lupus/Lyme Disease/Arthritis" drama, go back one entry. I've been a lot better today, I still had hives (or a rash or whatever the hell this shit is) today, but it wasn't half as bad as it was yesterday, and my joins have barely been painful at all. The Naproxin they gave me seems to be helping a lot, though I'm trying to limit my usage and only use it when I really, really need it. For now, even though it's really tempting to read all over the Internet about all the diseases the doctors say I might have, I'm avoiding it. I'm keeping notes on how I feel each day, preparing myself for all the possibilities as best I can, and trying not to make myself too paranoid and worried.
3. Tangus and I went to hang at Hard Knocks Orlando tonight for Zombie Night, sponsored by acomicshop. Basically we got to go on several laser-tag like missions hunting zombies. We collected supplies, found and detonated a zombie killing bomb, and fought of respawining bunchs of zombies. We got to use fairly realistic gun replicas and it was fun all around. We hung out with some buddies and met cool new people as well. I was especially proud of myself on my last mission, where we fought of hordes of respawning zombies. The mission lasted 6 minutes and I managed to stay alive for about 5 minutes and thirty seconds. At the last couple of seconds a zombie got to me while I was reloading, sadly. But I was up against the wall killing the hell out of zombies for quite a while, and that was awesome.
I am loving all these events that acomicshop has been setting up! Plus, I go there once a week at least at this point to get my new Buffy, X-Men, or Serenity comics, or just to browse and collect new things.
4. In three days it will be Tangus and I's two year anniversary!
