Okay, so lots of news tidbits.

1. I promise not to pimp constantly, as spamming is fucking annoying, but everyone please go check out my set in member review, Mechanic's Break. This set is a bit of a tribute to Firefly's lovely Kaylee, who I think is a really inspiring character, because she kicks butt, but is also vulnerable and not afraid to express the fact that she is a sexual person. In a way, Kaylee is a pretty awesome feminist icon. The set was shot by the wonderful Boris Starosta (Google him! He also shot my "Andy Rogeny" and "Alley" sets). Dot photoshopped it, and I owe the awesome hoodie at the end to tadkil, who is one of the most awesome SG members around. Anyone, none of that "vote for me" shit, but if you like the set, please do leave some positive feedback, because I would love to see it go live on the site. It is the first set I've shot in about two years, and I like it, and I want it to go on the front page!

2. Health stuff. If you haven't read about my crazy "it's either Lupus/Lyme Disease/Arthritis" drama, go back one entry. I've been a lot better today, I still had hives (or a rash or whatever the hell this shit is) today, but it wasn't half as bad as it was yesterday, and my joins have barely been painful at all. The Naproxin they gave me seems to be helping a lot, though I'm trying to limit my usage and only use it when I really, really need it. For now, even though it's really tempting to read all over the Internet about all the diseases the doctors say I might have, I'm avoiding it. I'm keeping notes on how I feel each day, preparing myself for all the possibilities as best I can, and trying not to make myself too paranoid and worried.

3. Tangus and I went to hang at Hard Knocks Orlando tonight for Zombie Night, sponsored by acomicshop. Basically we got to go on several laser-tag like missions hunting zombies. We collected supplies, found and detonated a zombie killing bomb, and fought of respawining bunchs of zombies. We got to use fairly realistic gun replicas and it was fun all around. We hung out with some buddies and met cool new people as well. I was especially proud of myself on my last mission, where we fought of hordes of respawning zombies. The mission lasted 6 minutes and I managed to stay alive for about 5 minutes and thirty seconds. At the last couple of seconds a zombie got to me while I was reloading, sadly. But I was up against the wall killing the hell out of zombies for quite a while, and that was awesome.

I am loving all these events that acomicshop has been setting up! Plus, I go there once a week at least at this point to get my new Buffy, X-Men, or Serenity comics, or just to browse and collect new things.

4. In three days it will be Tangus and I's two year anniversary!

Your set is great, it deserves being promoted and bought. Actually it's not great it's shiny.

Thanks for the update on your health, too. I'm hoping for the best. Whatever the hell that means.

I think writing down everything is a really great idea. It can give you a kind of list to go off of for your "triggers" so you'll know, "oh if I drink this much, it'll hurt" so you'll either know to avoid your triggers or, at the very least, to take measures to cut them off at the pass. If you know you're going to drink and that that makes the symptoms worse, then make sure you take precautionary measures like knowing that the next day you might be a bit knocked out and sore and have to take the medicine. (weekends are for recovering right? haha)
You're doing great, and I can't wait to see the new set. I'm heading over to check it out right now!

Pretty much any symptom you can think of will inevitably turn out to be cancer when Googled. You are a very wise person for not doing that. I wish I had your willpower, I almost have cancer every week.

Congrats on two years!!

Kaylee is hot, though her taste in men kind of bites.

Definitely the cutest Kaylee tribute ever. Is it bad that "I saw it when I was down there on my back" and (paraphrasing a bit) "Were you not spoken for, I would take you in a manly fashion. Because you're pretty." keep running through my head? That hoodie is definitely awesome.

I'm glad you're feeling better. You might want to check with the doctor about only taking the Naproxin symptomatically. I know that most NSAIDs only provide analgesic effects unless taking regularly so they build up in your blood stream. When I was still doing things I shouldn't on my bad knee, I found out that taking a 200mg over-the-counter each day at lunch kept me from having to take a lot of the prescription strength stuff when I pounded it too hard.

We definitely need some ZDL type events up here. I'm sure the Pacific Northwest will be one of the first places the zombies infect. With Umatilla down the road we're gonna get it bad. biggrin

Be good to yourself and enjoy the weekend.

well, my ex was taking it for inflammation and such, and had to stop taking it.

According to the pharmacist, and the research I did on it (i research everything, nerd habit), lots of people have problems involving their digestive tract. There are reports of it basically burning holes in your stomach. So, if you have any discomfort involving your stomach, like increasing tummy aches and pains, then you should definitely stop taking it.

Let me see if I can link you to some articles. I'll dig them up for you.

here's a good one:

NSAIDs such as naproxen may cause ulcers, bleeding, or holes in the stomach or intestine. These problems may develop at any time during treatment, may happen without warning symptoms, and may cause death. The risk may be higher for people who take NSAIDs for a long time, are older in age, have poor health, or who drink three or more alcoholic drinks per day while taking naproxen. Tell your doctor if you take any of the following medications: anticoagulants ('blood thinners') such as warfarin (Coumadin); aspirin; other NSAIDs such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and ketoprofen (Orudis KT, Actron); or oral steroids such as dexamethasone (Decadron, Dexone), methylprednisolone (Medrol), and prednisone (Deltasone). Also tell your doctor if you have or have ever had ulcers, bleeding in your stomach or intestines, or other bleeding disorders. If you experience any of the following symptoms, stop taking naproxen and call your doctor: stomach pain, heartburn, vomiting a substance that is bloody or looks like coffee grounds, blood in the stool, or black and tarry stools.

Unfortunately, most NSAIDs are hard on stomachs. But, definitely ask about alternative drugs, and if you are comfortable with it, you might try asking about "alternative"/natural remedies, such as what traditional chinese medicine practices would help.

and yea, any time! let me know if you need me to check anything else out.

p.s.- feel better!
