The set, shot in the Allegheny Cemetery here in Pittsburgh, was inspired by my lifelong obsession with Egyptian history, culture, and aesthetics.
I actually travelled to Egypt with my family last summer and somehow forgot to post my flicks from that trip on SG! So without further adieu... (warning: PICTURE HEAVY)
We were only there for 2 days, and only in the Cairo area (and Alexandria, very briefly). I'd really love to go back someday and go to the Valley of the Kings, and Luxor, etc. I find it so visually inspirational- the colors, the textures, the patterns, the amazing way Western culture is processed and re-imagined- THOSE FUCKING TRUCKS! And it was so fascinating to be there only a few months after the revolution. By far the most amazing experience of my life.

wow, i didn't realize that you had visited Egypt, as well as just being a lover of all things Egyptian.
