The best 4th of July I ever spent was the one that I was out of the country for. I was in Mexico City the weekend that Vincente Fox was elected. It was an amazing time of democracy, an election that held the people's true intentions after decades of incumbent corruption. The people rushed out on to the street and celebrated and cried and were so hopeful. While the legacy of Fox may not be as historic as his election, it at least opened up the possibilty of a democracy whose representatives are chosen by the people. I hope that this seasons elections and newly elected official will create some of the changes the people were so hopeful for with Fox. Although as Mexico finds itself in a situation eerily similar to one we know too well, with no clear winner, and the people divided about the best course of action for their country I hope that they find themselves with a leader whose main concern is the will of the people and raising the standard of living for his constituents.

I hope that the next US elections open up the possibility for leaders whose hopes are for what is best for the people of the country that they represent. Vote in November, the Congressional and State officials are the people whose decisions closest effect your daily life. Celebrate democracy not only on the 4th but everyday.

We lost, The U.S. sucks at soccer, we all know it, no big deal. The thing is we lost to Ghana, this is their first world cup. If we had beat them and advanced to be taken out by Brazil we could have held our heads high. No one expected us to beat Brazil, but Ghana, and it wasn't even close, Ghana kicked our ass. When are all those soccer mom's kids going to grow up and show the world that we are not completey useless in the game?

My teeth hurt. Not one in particular, more like all, it is very wierd. I go to the dentist. I have never had a cavity, could they all get cavities all at once and hurt?

Maybe I can get a grill like flava flav if all my teeth fall out.

I am currently obsessed with the new $10 bill. I had no idea they were even coming out with a new $10 bill. It is all peach and red and has about a gagiillion new little additions to it.

Are they going to have all new money? Is the $20 going to be blue or yellow or is peach our official new currency color? Was there some sort of vote that I missed, cause peach is so not even on the radar for cool colors. And peach and red what the fuck? A second grader could tell you those colors don't go, not even in an 80's ironic tragically un-hip hipster way. You would think that my tax dollars could be spent paying some better graphic designers. Hell I would have even loaned them CourtneyRiot for a day or two if they really needed that much help. All they needed to do was ask.

How am I supposed to help the economy when the money offends my design sensibilities. Good job george good job. Steve Jobs would have loved to have helped I am sure he could have doen a bang up job.

I thought republicans were supposed to love money, why did they make it so ugly? Maybe it is a plot to offend Democrats so we don't use actual money anymore and only use our credit cards and then they will destroy the banks and they will set us into a tank girl meets mad max world where they live decadent lives and liberals eat dog food in the desert.

Edited to add... I hadn't even considered the greenback thing, it is perhaps a ploy to thwart rappers. If they remove Benjamin Franklin from the $100 bill you will know the government is racist.

Alright end rant, I have to go stare at the sunrise behind the torch and see if I can break their code.
