Do bands make great albums anymore? Is it all about one or two amazing tracks and the rest of the album an after thought?

Do you still buy whole albums?

What is the last GREAT album you bought?

When I hear a new band or artist I will get one track try them out and then buy the album if I am really into them, but honestly I have been so disappointed lately. Just heard Butch Walker and fell in love with "They Don't Know What We Know" and then bought the album. ehhhh. I miss the days of Doolittle where all but one song was brilliant.

Now I am just sad. frown

What album should I buy to make me happy?

xoxo

p.s. what is the best Black Sabbath album to buy? Maybe I just need to rock.

I've always thought that Butch Walker had a lot of great songs... but no albums I adored.

The one album I adore from beginning to end is Neverending White Lights - Act I. All songs are very beautiful and emotional, soft and mellow.

The last album I bought that I liked most of was Miike Snow's. The art of the complete album is all but done, I think. Such are modern times.

As for the might Sabbath, I love the first 5 albums, today I'd have to give Master of Reality the nod.

I do buy full albums because there are some good ones out there. However my taste seems to run counter to many people on here so I don't know if you would agree if I told you which!

That is a good point you bring up. I haven't really thought of it personally. I'm really sure they do. I personally like an album that tells a story so the songs line up an work together.

I don't remember the last album I bought, but it was quite a while ago. I put some of my old CD's into my 6 CD car player and listen to them on the road when I get bored of radio. I usually buy one song at a time off iTunes.

I've got a spotify premium account now and when I really like a track I buy it but no more album... it's too expensive.

This is last great collection of songs that I purchased and it is amazing.

Punk, Rock n Roll, Mod, Glam, Clash, all dressed up into pure Punk magic.

By the Incredible Kidda Band.

I personally like "Paranoid" as Black Sabbath's greatest contribution to ROCK.
