So there has been a lot of controversy surrounding our movie project -
'SuicideGirls Must Die', and I want to dispel some misconceptions:

We understand that the tag line "The World's First Reality Horror
Movie" along with the violent imager in the trailer has made some
people think that the models got hurt during the making of this movie,
or their lives were in danger.

That was never the case. After being inspired by the film "Borat",
Sawa and I set out to make a campy 80s style low budget horror flick
where the "victims" of the movie didn't know they were in one.

Our plan was to catch real human reactions to fear and to be able to
"punk" some of our favorite models from the site by making them think
they could be in real danger.

We invited 12 of the girls to Maine to be a part of a summer camp
calendar photo and video shoot. Then with the help of Amina and Sawa
(the 'Calendar Producers'), we conspired to remove the models one by
one, ten little indian style, and film the real chaos, drama and fear
that ensued.

Yes, some of the girls who were a part of the shoot are mad at us for
tricking them or feel they were mistreated by us. Other models have
had a great sense of humor about the whole thing. No one was ever in
danger, and we really, truly love all the girls who were a part of
this little social experiment.

We understand not everyone thinks tricking your coworkers into
thinking their friends were in danger or even dead (and they were
next), is funny, but we have to admit we kind of do.

If you want to judge for yourself - we have been told the movie is
due to open March 12 in a limited run of cool theaters (like Austin's
'Alamo Draft House') and then will be released on DVD and PPV in June.

We are excited to have a cocktail and see the SuicideGirls on the big
screen for the first time after almost 10 years on the web. Soon we'll
have screening info and will post what theaters are running it - In
the meantime you can catch the trailer here:

Sounds like a great, fun idea, and everyone needs to lighten up a little, it's just a movie....entertainment.

Thanks Missy for posting about this.

Also, do you have a clearer picture about what cities it will play in theaters? Hollywood? I would love to go.

Thanks,

Jim

seems tacky to me - "Hey, let's get the gang together and let them think we're going to murder them!".

Like there's not enough volence in the world now we need to add more?

now that i actually understand the background behind it i guess it makes it sound a little less cheesy. but im pretty snubby about my "Horror". i thought that paranormal activity was junk. but i do wanna see what you guys cooked up. it could be a good timesmile i think that its kinda cool when people dont fake emotion and its real. so i kinda like the idea now. before i thought you guys just decided to make another dvd to help boost sales...

this helps shed a lotta light on the project tho so thanks for posting. the draft house is a big deal. and i heard you got a Columbus showing too! exciting things for you ladies!

props to the lead in behind the story. really good idea, cant wait to see how you guys pulled it off. i think it will help boost the popularity knowing the back story behind the making of it! i know ida been freaked the fuck out! even though you scared them i hope they are just as excited for the exposure they get. i know i would be!

I'm sorry, but this sentence alone:

Yes, some of the girls who were a part of the shoot are mad at us for
tricking them or feel they were mistreated by us.

pretty much sours me on the whole project. That's not the sort of thing that coworkers who respect each other, much less friends do to one another...and then to market it and sell it as a product....puke not for me.

I can't wait to see it. It was pretty sneaky of you guys to trick them like that and I can understand why some girls got pissed off about it, but it's still something that in retrospect would be pretty awesome to be part of.
