meh:

I didn't get into Goldsmiths, which has really bummed me out. I've still got to applications pending but I really liked Goldsmiths. I kinda woke up and questioned everything about myself and my work. I'm so fed up of seeing generic art and photography, it's like everything has lost all meaning and it hurts when people are like wtf about my work when it comes from within or falls out of my head. It's not just random colours you know.

I remember showing my class my self portrait and they were like that's so fucking vain, but it was the most vulnerable and honest piece of work. Having 2000+ students and tutors see it everyday and knowing it's you is quite scary.

My mum loves it though. She's like "it's so you". I love my mummy even if we don't really see eye to eye at times.

Sometimes I miss college and announcing new projects and people wanting to be models, not for the "fame" but because it will be the best spent afternoons and feeling like nothing matters.

I miss that day so much. But I'm glad I have now. I really shouldn't be here.

So yeh, that's the meh. Not because my set hasn't been bought. Because I've suddenly realised who I am. And it's a bit meh. Well if ambivalence could be personified, it would be me.

It's all short and bob like! heheh it's really short at the back, it's crazy! But cute and it's better than my scarecrow look I was rocking.

So now I'm helping dad to get the house ready as we're having people over the weekend... There will be lots of wine.

Still a bit bummed about not having a job, and being a polar bear, but yeh I've got a brownie downstairs that needs munching so that's pretty rad.

Meant to be going to a fireworks display tonight, but the weather is horrible so I don't think we will. Bum. I so desperately want to do some photography, like a proper project. Though I have to get my portfolio together for a Uni application so I really should do that. Though I'm tempted to just send them a link to my website, but that's lazy. So yeh that's it for now I guess.

I think today I'm gunna try and get back my photography skills. I've really slipped and I don't get why. Well probably lack of models and studio space. Everyone is David freaking Bailey, photography isn't even that fun anymore. It's too instant and in a way formulated. Even candid stuff feels all staged. I do still very much like photography so don't think I don't.

I'm off to see the Rothko exhibition some point this week maybe. My mate Lira's mum gave me a free ticket, she's a gallery curator and wasn't gunna be in London for long enough to go so gave it to me. I'm dead chuffed. He's one of my favourite artists.

Hmm I wish I was good at something. I'm thinking about doing an angsty ballet set, to mark my retirement from the dancing world. Maybe?
