I went and saw the shuttle Endeavour launch this evening with my family and my little dogs. My son was impressed, my dogs seemed indifferent until the sound came then they got interested. It is strange, the thing must have been 10 miles in the air before the sound of it rolled over us. It goes very fast, and the night launch was intensely bright, like the sun rise or a nuclear blast. It led us to an interesting conversation on the way home about a nuclear blast and if you would hear it before it killed you. We are so morbid.

The shuttle was cool, one of those things which is so much more impressive to see in real life than any picture or video.

I need help!

I don't understand how to deal with these people.

Can someone give me a good answer?

What do I do about people trying to save my soul? When I'm totally not in the mood to deal with Jesus and not in the mood to pick a fight or have my car vandalized in the name of Jesus, what do I say to make people fuck off and leave me alone?

Here is the situation I had today. And I want to start this out by saying, I have natural colored hair right now, it is plain old white people brown with a few slightly lighter blond highlights in it. It is shoulder length and naturally curly. I have no tattoos and only 1 hole in each ear. I wear small diamond and white gold hoops and a small diamond eternity circle necklace and my wedding ring. I was wearing a white with a red green and aqua paisley print Tommy Hilfiger shirt and dark denim Tommy Hilfiger mid calf wide leg capri pants and some black simple sandals and a black Hobo purse. I was driving a plain silver unmarked 2008 BMW 328i loaner car while my car was in getting dealer maintenance.

OK, so now that we have established how insanely boring and average I looked because I know otherwise it would be easy enough to say my look was the problem, I assure everyone, I'm 32, I blend in these days, I don't even have time or energy to bother with bullshit these days.

I was driving through a parking lot and there was an older black lady with some dangly scarf thing standing like she needed to cross. I stopped and motioned for her to cross because I was turning to park. She motioned for me to go so I pointed to the parking spot I was waiting for the cart guy to move the carts and let me into. I parked and got out of the car. Because it was a loaner I stopped for a second to look at it so I would be able to find it again.

That is when it happened, the thing I can't figure out how to deal with.

The woman I had been motioning to walked up to me said to me "Jesus loves you."

I am an agnostic, probably more of an apathetic agnostic at that. I don't know if there is a god and I don't care.

I was not in the mood to argue with the woman, all I wanted was to go buy my lunch and go home.

I replied thank you and was about to walk away when she grabbed me and looked at me expectantly, and I had NO idea what to say. What do you say when someone says this to you? Jesus loves you too? Amen? I honestly really don't know, not being from the South and not having so much the experience with the nutty born agains there are so many of out here, I have no clue what to say.

I looked at her and she began telling me I was going to go to hell and I needed a relationship with Jesus. I told her I refuse to believe people in South America and India and Africa and all of my and her ancestors were really in hell because they had a different religion up until a few hundred years ago or still have different religions. I told her judgment was not for her to make and her own lord said judge not, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I told her I was comfortable with my own soul and I was sure there was someone else out there in more need of saving than me. She then kept going, I stood there for an uncomfortable 10 minutes listening to her ramble on about Jesus. I let her go, I didn't argue hoping she would shut up or get bored at my lack of response. She did not. She asked me if she could pray for me. I told her I wasn't going to stop her and that she can pray for me all she wants. I then said I was hungry and getting my lunch and I walked away as I should have done 10 minutes prior. I was trying to not be rude to an old lady though.

Assuming I don't want to spend 15 minutes being preached at and told I am going to hell, what do I say? How do you reply to Jesus loves you?

How do I reply to God Bless you?

What do you say to make people go away and leave you alone and not get into a theological discussion?

I have decided that you can tell a lot about a person by talking to their SO about the kinds of people they always date. (past tense of course)

For example, Rainmans girlfriend says she always dates psycho assholes.......... I couldn't agree more.

I always date men who cheat on me. I also always date people who like to put me in a cage and who don't support my goals. Water to my fire. Which of course means anyone I am with is most likely a self absorbed cheater, so anyone dating any of my ex's..... Extra weird because my parents were faithful.

Someone I know says they always date the needy girls. They, like Rainmans girlfriend and like me of course think that their current lover is the exception. I would beg to differ.

I hate patterns. Why do we do it to ourselves, why do we try so hard to get away from certain things and always end up right back in it?

I have more examples but in case they are reading this I'll spare hurting any feelings.

What do you think?

And here are photos of 2 of my dogs.

I finished another painting. It is 2'x4' acrylic on canvas. I'm almost done with a small one of my little dog as well.

I voted early and I voted for Obama. I was on the fence in some ways, both candidates are fairly moderate as far as their parties go, both have voted for and against many of the same bills. They are actually fairly similar when put side by side. There were a few things which really solidified my decision to vote Obama.

The big one is Sarah Palin. Holy moley by diddly what a raging cuntly wuntly by golly gee wilakers all mighty. Her mannerisms are insulting by their very nature as are her stereotypes of "Joe Sixpack" and whatever other "slices" she is trying to use to connect with the inhabitants of Americas trailer parks. She had to be the worst choice ever, I especially love how she just barely skirted around one of McCains own laws about the $150,000 she spent on clothes for herself and her family. Lipstick on a pig anyone? I would think the governor of Alaska would have at least a few suits on hand already and would have the resources to cloth herself. Her nasty little "quips" and the yokley way she says them out of the side of her mouth were incredibly irritating to me and made me want to punch her in the face. As a woman I hate to say this about another woman, but McCain really needs to put a muzzle and leash on that bitch.

The second thing I noticed was impressed by was the way Obama has managed his campaign. He has not run it out of money or let people around him run wild the way McCain has. Obama has been planning his run for president for years and has really followed through working with precision and determination with a goal in mind. I feel this is a quality of good leadership. He cut ties with his minister which was a good political idea, even though I'm sure it was personally an issue. Overall and so far he has managed his run effectively and well. I would like to hope to see this leadership continue in Washington. McCain seems to let his people go 6 different ways his right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. That is poor management, especially when running for president seems like a clear enough goal to begin with, if he can't even keep his people on the same page for this, how can he manage a whole country with multiple and diverse goals?

Third and kind of tied to second, Obama seems to have more of a plan. I can go to his web site and I can read his plans for things, McCain can identify problems but he seems to fail at laying out any thought out plans to fix them.

So there you have it. The early voting is cool, I was able to read about every person and bill in depth online as I was voting for or against them.

Also.....

I have noticed Florida and Arizona have anti gay marriage constitutional amendments on the ballot again.

Can I just say HOW fucking annoying these bigoted laws are? Seriously! With all of the non-discrimination laws and the separation of church and state I can't fathom how laws "defining marriage as a man and a woman" bla bla are constitutional. Who and how people love doesn't seem like the kind of thing we should regulate. If marriage is a sacred church union then why do I have to pay $100 at the court house to get a license to wed and why do I have to pay $400 to the court just to file for an uncontested divorce? It kind of makes me embarrassed to live in states and times where this kind of discrimination is still allowed and where people actually vote for it. It was voted down in AZ last time I hope it gets voted down this time as well.

Sorry for the slow responses. I have been without a computer for a while, mine has developed a demonic possession it seems.

Two CIS degreed and holders of multiple certifications who repair computers for a living techs and a shop who repairs computers as its sole business operation have been unable to cleanse it of the demon. It has a hardware problem which makes it shut down randomly usually after 5 minutes or less of use. It is still not fixed but I got a laptop now.

I have been busy anyway. I will continue to be slow for another 6 weeks as I am moving again. If I am slow to accept your group requests this is why, I apologize.
