NY was so fucking HOT! I wanna move there! It really is a very beautiful city, well Manhattan anyway I didn't really go anywhere else except brooklyn for about a minute.
I had such a great time!
Since I been back I have been on a bit of a downer. Im sick atm, a combination of things, and my computer has been getting fixed until now, I just go back from picking her up. So I been sick without a computer, which is my work, my internet play, my tv, and my stereo. Without it I am really lost. So its back but what a shit day getting it! Everyone was in the nastiest mood outside today. From this morning when I spoke some chick on the phone about my computer, she seemed angry at me for not answering the phone when she tried to call? WTF? I didnt hear the phone and I called back anyway. I told the guy in the shop and he was having alot of trouble understanding my accent (its a fucking Australian accent comeon its not that hard!) And thought I was saying all sorts of things like the french staff are rude (???) and I was rude (???). He wasnt listening then asking me if I was trying to get a job? What kinda of question is that to ask someone? ARRH!
I caught the bus back the bus driver woulnt even speak to me and the machine didnt give me change, and I asked her if I could get my change and she said no(???) Then I went to the store to get ciggerettes and I took a couple of minutes after to put them and my purse away and some chick working there gave me the filthyist look like what are you still doing here.
Meenwhile I really fucking sick and sweating like a dog and just wanted to get home.
What a horrible fucking day. Sometimes I wonder if it isnt because I dont speak french that people are rude to me. I try and I speak a little but it comes so slowly that when I am in a hurried situation I just speak english. But I have had people in shops get angry at me for not speaking french and people ignore me for not speaking french. It really isnt much of an incouragement to learn!

Fuck the French. They are the rudest, most intolerant motherfuckers about people trying to speak their language, it's unbelievable. Even Americans are less rude about it, and they will say things to your face like "why don't you just learn English?" I hate all the language bullshit in this town and the way shopkeepers will look at you like you've personally insulted them by speaking your preferred language. Excuse me, but aren't THEY there to serve US in the language WE prefer? This is why they're supposed to say "Bonjour/hello!" You choose English or French and the conversation goes on from there.
Grr. Don't even get me started. Oops, too late!
