When playing a show, have you ever encountered a big, jocky looking fellow who promises to buy a bunch of CDs if you go on stage early or cut your break short to get back on stage (I imagine this is more for house bands). If you do, that is my cousin.
My cousin is a just a (well-meaning) loudmouth who ownes his own construction company and has more money than he knows what to do with. He doesn't work at any show venues, frequent any one with any regularity, nor particularly care for any particular type of local music. He just likes to stumble into bars where music is being played and have a listen. When there is a break in the action, he throws his money around to end said break.
The alternative I mentioned in your sgpdx thread would be to play at the house of the guys who run the High Karate label. They frequently have house party/shows. Josh Fisher lives there now and I'm sure he'd like to see you again. Jeremey Brown's new band would most likely play as well.
jucifer is awesome. last time i saw them live, the venue was wayyyyyyyyyy too small for their sound and bottles literally fell off the bar.
hope that show went well.
