On a separate note of my last post about paranormal activity incident, since a it came up a few times.
I want to discuss, PS which is called Sleep Paralysis, Waking Nightmares, Sleep Hag.

If you go to YouTube and put in Sleep Paralysis, you will find that you are definitely not alone if you ever woke up in the middle of the night, and found that you were temporarily unable to move or speak in any way but were aware of your surroundings, and yes at times felt a presence or even saw one!

there are also a ton of stories and personal accounts online, I especially like the lay out of this site
for SP

Lately i have had this on my mind and find it hard to fall asleep or fall back asleep with worry that this night might be the night it happens again, I kid you not, sincere dread! it can be that scary!
to the point where i want to take sleeping aids to get me through the entire night.

I and my mother have both encountered Sleep Paralysis, I have about 3 or 4 times, But one time in particualr about 2 years ago was most terrifying. I may have posted about it here back then.

Just wanted you to know there are some answers out there and that you are not alone.

Sorry to hear about your sleep issues. When was that picture taken? just wondering because it doesn't look like it matches your hair for the last year or so.

I've had sleep paralysis over the years. I always assumed it was some kind of bad dream and it really didn't bother me too much. I remember when I found out what it was (a long time ago) and it made it even less scary. So don't worry about it too much. When it happened to me the last couple of times (ages ago) my mind went, "Ugh, not sleep paralysis again" and the scary feeling went right away. I still couldn't move for a couple of minutes though. That was a strange half awake and half asleep state.
I actually kind of enjoyed it the last time it happened in a horror movie sort of way. So relax and go to sleep. A little sleep paralysis can enliven a boring life. Or I could just be a little more jaded than most. I'm never sure.

That happened to me when I was 19 or 20. I was sound asleep, snapped awake instantly because I felt something pure evil right above me. Then I realized I couldn't move. Lasted about 20 seconds then poof. Freaked me the fuck out.

It is more likely to happen if you are fatigued and or sleep deprived. It is ofte accompanied by hypnogogic hallucinations. I believe there my be paranormal cases but there are definitely physiological cases and I used to get a few a year and my heart goes out to you.
Do you also get the thing where as you are falling asleep someone calls your name and wakes you up?

It was one of the most alarming things ever (along with various car crashes and drug induced perceptions i've had). But I'm not the type to obsess on it. If it comes back, it comes back. If it's the grim reaper and it takes me to whatever's next, so be it. Good chance that's a better time than this anyways. I sure hope so.
I'm not about to stay at that place again though!

That's bizarre. Has anybody ever felt like something pushing down on your chest while you sleep? Like an incubus or something.shocked

Andrea has that sometimes. She's found that if she plays music (the soundtrack to Edward Scissorhands really does it for her) when she's having trouble with this, it helps her to go back to sleep.

so... this haunted house thing is a well-traveled road, and one I've spent some time on..not willingly...

most often what haunts a place is the memories of the room itself; it takes an emotional impression from something that's happened there, just as an old-fashioned ::cough:: film photograph takes a light impression on its emulsion.
and so forth..

best option when leaving is not an option and you're awake: burn a white candle, preferably illuminating a Saint or Sage; ring a bell, and read from a book that you gain a sense of comfort or protection from. / chocolate helps, liquor does NOT / nor does sexing or doping--both of these are REALLY bad ideas 'in situ.'

best option when leaving is not an option and you're asleep: visualize a great pentangle resting lightly upon your body and then visualize it inscribed in a circle; then imagine that the circle and pentangle are slightly pulsing with light-energy, and with the "om" sound, or some other simple strong syllable.

most "visitors" are really slightly out-of-phase subtle-world denizens sitting on a parallel bed in a parallel plane... not a parallel universe; they are (mostly) harmless and unaware of us as we are unaware of them as we move through our waking day. some visitors are indeed malevolent, and some benign...clarity drives away the former, doubt and skepticism the latter...skull
