Call me crazy, or tell me your similar stories....

So I booked this awesome hotel in Chelsea area of NYC for Monday for a shoot.
This hotel was a dream, A dream in the sense that it was under $180 including tax, a night, in an awesome location, spacious, clean and contemporary, had an elevator, quiet, robes, safe, iron, new coffee maker, nice cd and alarm clock, decent flat screen tv. let me check in at 1:30. and that no one really knew it was a hotel, It has only been a hotel for 2 years. It use to be a Dormitory, it;s also connected to a Episcopalian Seminary.

My shoot starts at 3:00 PM we have some electrical issued half way through, which we later chalk up to a sync cord issue, it's always the sync cord! The photographer say's this place is prob haunted jokingly, I say " don't play! i spook easy and have to stay here.

All that behind us, it ends at 12am, i venture out for bad pizza, pick up some snacks climb in bed, say goodnight to Ant on the phone, and watch a lil tv till i get sleepy, around 2ish.

BTW i have traveled a ton on my own and stayed in a variety of hotels and motels by myself since this modeling thing, like at least 5 years straight.
I felt very safe in this hotel. I liked it so much, after i checked in i went out to find a cafe and told the front desk that I planned to keep this place a secret.

I can't tell you exactly what the order of events were, just a rough memory of them.
the bed was soft and pillowy with goose down, there was a heat issue, either too hot or too cool, mostly to hot.
I woke up at 5ish, it was still dark, at some point i opened the curtains to just the sheers to let some street light in.
at some point during the shoot, we had moved the foot stool away from the foot of the bed, and i noticed that the frame around it was wooden, i had even rested my shoes on it earlier.

I live in a loft, and i am use to vibrations from the ceiling, floors, the joices, and walls, if someone walks across where a beam hits it will shake my couch.

ok back to 5am ish.. i felt something bump into the bed... twice! it was not a vibration, the only other thing it could have been was a earthquake, which it was not. that would mean other things in the room would have shook too. it was like someone walked by the bed and bumped into the frame.
Ok now i'm up, and the light is on. I then felt a light weight on the top of my foot that was under the covers, the touch was on top of the covers.
This part i don't mind dismissing as my eyes playing tricks on me or manifested by fear and adrenaline.
as i stared at a desk chair that was beige in color, i could see or what it seemed to be a coffee colored brownish stain that was moving or had some motion. I climbed out of bed opened the window, and walked to the bathroom, with my sweaty palms. I didn't feel any presence in the room, It was hot, not cold, i didn't feel threatened, just freaked out. i peed with the door open, washed my face, brushed my teeth, and started packing my makeup that was on the bathroom floor, all of a sudden with out even making the decision in my head, i stared packing my stuff, then i got dressed, and found myself leaving, it was 6AM! i had a shoot with Steve Prue at 2 in Brooklyn, i was gonna sleep in till 12!
I went to the front desk, and they asked how my stay was and i said SHORT. I kinda told the guy i had a weird paranormal experience, he offered me a new room, but there was no way i was going to be able to sleep after that, I cancelled with Steve, got some coffee and headed back to philly to my own bed.
, 80% of the people i tell think I'm crazy, the rest have their own stories to tell.

I don't think you're crazy. After my dad died I had a very powerful experience with him. it's a bit complicated to explain, but the fast and easy version is that I felt him (his emotion as well as a vibration) and saw him or rather his face. it doesn't matter what biology you use to explain it away to me logically, because I know what I experienced was REAL FOR ME.

My house was built in 1820, (pics in profile). I've had people tell me it's haunted but have never had a paranormal experience. Just the occasional mouse. That stuff never happens to me. I actually want to see a ghost.

Once when I was little I woke up to strange light in my room and a feeling of pressure on my chest. I tried to scream and yet no sound would come out. After a minute or so it just stopped. I was scared to death for like a month straight, and still don't know if it was just one of those half awake, mind playing tricks on me things, or something else.

Also I recommend Priceline.com's name your own price thing. We booked the Roosevelt for march for like $100/night. I was stoked.

I thoroughly believe in ghosts. I grew up in Berks county and we have tons of ghost stories from there. I have never experienced it myself but I would love to have an experience like that . I know it must be scary but I would love it.

I am with you on believing.

wow... Although I've never had experience with this stuff, I love hearing others' stories!
I might have done the same, given the situation; as if sleeping in a new place, alone isn't akward-enough, feeiling like you're NOT alone would only make it that much worse.

at least you were able to leave the situation, though.. sorry to hear it shook you so bad that it ruined your day, and scheduled shoot. the good news is you're back home, protected by the happiness, and good aura your home offers.

I have no stories to share, but hope to some day. I want to believe in ghosts or whatever it is that other people talk about, but have never experienced anything to justify it. Still a skeptic for now.

ok. this just happened to me.
My nephew and I drove out to Phoenix on Dec. 26th to catch the Rams-Cards game that Sunday and the Lakers-Suns game that monday.
We stayed at a place we'd stayed before. It's a place on Miller Rd in s.Scottsdale that looks like apartments, but they rent them monthly and nightly as well.
2 things happened but i don't remember which was 1st or if they were even the same night.

minor thing:
i took a shower one night arounf 11 and when i got out, he said he heard scratching on the door.
could've been a cat or something. whatever.

major thing:
one night as i was sleeping around 4 or 5am, i felt a pressure on me as if somehting was pressing down hard on me. hard enough to wake me up. sick part was...as i was waking up, the air felt like it was sucked out of my lungs in a vacuum type manner. not like a regular exhale. that's the best i can explain it except to say it was bizzare and I've never experienced anything like that.

I also don't think you're crazy at all. I do think our senses play tricks on us more often that we realize, so when that's combined with a bit of suggestion our imaginations can respond quite strongly. I've had a few "spooky" moments myself. No matter how rational I can be about it retrospectively, in the moments it's happening I know it feels real and it's good to get some distance, breath deeply, and accept the fact it just happens--however rarely.

Freaky! I have had a similar experience and it was creepy! Felt like someone was sitting on the edge of the bed - happened three nights in a row and the last night I kept a flashlight with me so that I could see if the bed was actually dipping at the corner like it felt, The minute the light went on the pressure on the bed went away.

My Dad passed away 18 years ago, though I've had a few brief experiences in the last 10 years, when I felt he was there with me....mostly in a couple of his favorite places around here at home. I'm positive I heard him speak to me at least once and I have smelled his pipe tobacco several times. There was certainly no fear involved, since it was my Dad who I loved very much....in fact, it was even a bit comforting to know that just maybe he was still around looking after me a little.
