I feel pretty much exactly the same way about first impressions and meeting new people. I'm really awkward when it comes to social scenarios with new people. But once that wall is down and i put myself out there people tend to think I'm pretty great. Sometimes that barrier feels like its impossible to break. And i usually just curse my social anxiety and hide in the corner. I'm rambling now when all I was really trying to say is I know exactly what you mean....

I don't know if I have social anxiety per se--I'm terrible at first impressions. I either try too hard or don't try hard enough.

anybody who isn't willing to look past a first impression isn't worth giving them a second impression.
