it contained everything. my sketchbook/journal, my dayplanner (sixsixty got it for me), my passport, birth certificate, social insurance card, my leatherman, my favourite blue eyeliner, my ipod, my mobile phone, the keys to my new studio, my only zip-up hoodie (it went traveling with me and everything), and countless little things.
i'm sad, but that's life. it's frustrating and annoying and it's going to be really expensive to replace everything. also, the bank just told me that i can't get another bank card without ID, and i can't replace my ID without other ID, so i'm really not sure how i'm going to handle all of this. life is going to be rather inconvenient for the next little while.
still, there are blessings. i wanted to start a new sketchbook - i just didn't want to lose the last five months of thoughts and ideas. i wanted a new bag - i just don't have it yet. there are other things, too, but i'm having trouble thinking about it positively.
in good news, you read it right, i DID rent a studio! it's been a daydream of mine for the past month or so, ever since my roommate and i started regularly taking over the living room with canvas, paper, paints, pens, lamps, dropcloth. three of us have gone in on it and will be spending our summer creating (and drinking beer). i am so excited to have a big open space to make art in. i feel inspired just thinking about it.

That is so sucky about your bag 
Is there a reason you were carrying everything around at once? I guess it doesn't matter now, but these things happen. You should be able to get your new birth certificate without other ID and your Passport with the new birth certificate etc. That's crappy about the bank card though. Makes you wonder why they don't have another backup for situations like these. It must happen enough. Mostly, though, the only advice I'd like to give is be really careful about identity theft with someone with their mucky paws on all that. Be sure to report the theft.

I'm so, so sorry about your stuff! Where was it stolen from? What a pain in the butt! I don't suppose there's any chance it'll turn up . . . but you never know . . . the person could disgard the paperwork, and someone might turn it in. You notified the police, right?

sorry to hear about the messenger bag and the other two stolen bags. you should file a police report if you haven't already, since your bag did contain a lot of important paperwork not to mention your other priceless possessions.
the last couple of days i've spent at the bank and on the phone trying to get back money stolen from my bank account. i used to have enough to finish college and move out but not anymore! 
ps congratulations on renting that studio! awesome times to be had, most definitely!

That is major suckyness about your bag, and the other two bags being stolen I have no tolerance for that sh*t.
I hope that you are able to get your ID's cards, and Passport all squared away in time.
Congrats on the studio!!! I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
The three of you look as if you're going to raise some hell in that picture.
The painting looks great, but I agree that the lines need to go.
