it's june.

how can i tell? well, someone flipped the calendar in our washroom...
but the first june fell on a rainy-cloudy-grey vancouver day, after a sunny-warm may thirty-first that i spent in the park with cute cyclists, cute girls and cute children.
june in vancouver has a history of being dismal. today i wore two sweaters.

someone beautiful is painting a mural on our living-room wall.

(i just took this right now. there are girls in my living room...
my roommate wife made us supper.
wild rice, black bean homous, seitan, roasted red peppers, tomato and fresh greens in homemade chapati.
i made the black bean homous.
we are listening to belle and sebastian...)

zoom image
this is me right now.
i am supposed to go out dancing, but... it is hard to do when there is art - love - conversation - food
in my house.
it is always so hard to leave this place. in the morning, at night, any time.
it's so lovely here.

do you love your living space?
why? why not?

I like it. But it obviously needs more lesbians.

It drives me crazy. I still live here at home since I'm waiting to find out about a possible job change and move this month sometime. Up until last Feb (2007) I was supporting my parents while helping them recover from some debt issues caused by my father. That was all cleared up in Feb 2007 and it was my intention to be out of here by fall 2007, however that all changed when I heard about a job opening so I waited and went for it. I interviewed, was offered, and turned down the job in December 2007. While looking at places to move to in early Feb I was told of another job that was going to be opening soon so I have stuck around as I don't feel like moving twice in a short period of time. If this one fall thru I will be out of here by September.

And my answer to your question in my journal was answered to in your last journal.

My living space is very comfortable and my flatmates aren't bad guys, but it's sort of boring. Your place sounds much more interesting.

I love my living space; it is my corner of the universe. Don't really like to leave it at all, would rather have people come visit me than have to leave it. It is my own little burrow.

My god, we have the same weather flip here. I'm ok with rain, but, jeez, it's june now ! Not November ! I can't stand this greyish-cold-gloom weather anymore.
Give us sun. frown

I love my living place. I love it a lot ! It's small but cosy, my roomie and I have really settle down well, everything is colorful and funny, hats on the walls, giant posters, red objects everywhere, drawings, sunlights.....
That's so great. SO we have to move, now, to nest a new cosy place biggrin

june here means.. i'm going to start melting away, getting attacked by mosquitoes.. and long for autumn to come prancing along. on the way to work today, at nearly 5:30 in the afternoon, it was 95 degrees.

right now, i'm actually okay with my living space. i took a lot of time cleaning it and throwing junk away. and i also moved a few things around.. and now, everything is much more open and happy. so i don't even mind being in here.

but i really want to move into my own place. it's getting a drag to live here and have two adults crammed in one room with way too many things.

i find if i do my best to keep things pretty and clean, it's easier to stay happier all sorts of ways.

Natto gets a bad rap. The first time I had it I thought it tasted, smelt, and had the texture of vomit.

Now I love it. But it's definitly a taste that takes time to nurture, and one that requires a little more love to embrace. But it's so good once you do.

I just re-arranged my entire living space myself.

i agree with paul nikon, more lesbians!
i norm love home and my living space, but i dont live somewhere right now i can invite people into. my kitchen at home i LOVED. friends sharing food, and always a visitor at the dooro and music and a roaring fire during the winter. We've smoked outside that backdoor, 12 of us with big gold brollys! n on winter evernings my mum would let us smoke infront of the fire with tea and hot choc

yep i love home, your home sounds great!

I like it, I just wished I had more room... it all feels like it's where it has to be cause otherwise it wouldn't fit... but otherwise, I painted it blue last year, like I always wanted and it's comfy so it isn't so bad smile

And yeah... June... it's nothing awesome here either. Been rainy or cloudy too, and not exactly warm, it just barely 16'C today which really isn't June-like weather. Hope it'll change soon !

i have little love for my living space. It's not homely at all. Very dry and boring... There's very little decor - the walls are all just plain white and the double-sided poster tape i've used to mount things for years does not adhere to this particular paint... So i kinda just gave up on the idea of hanging anything up right away. That, and my place is so far removed from where i go to school and work that i usually never feel like going home, because going back out again is another 30 or 40 minute subway ride.

on the plus side, my apartment is littered with guitars and guitar paraphernalia, so when i'm home there's not much else i do but play or listen to music.

i wanna get a giant sheet of canvas and hang it on my wall so i can paint a mural with my friends.

I'm jealous that you've managed to create such a nice community with your housemates. I've never lived with people I've had a lot in common with - it's generally just been a convenient location or something.

Right now I'm definitely not loving it - I live with a bunch of meateaters that stay up until all hours even though I have to get up at 5am everyday. They all have TVs in their room which I can hear blaring 24/7..and nobody's nice to my cat. Haha.

I think I will love my next living space though - I'm aiming for a townhouse by the beach somewhere near Santa Cruz. When I get back to Australia it's definitely going to be coastal again too.

With art, love, conversation and food at home . . . . you don't really need to go out! Its not like you're missing anything! I find more often than not . . . going out is frequently just an excuse to spend money unneccessarily!

How long is your summer? I'm guessing about 6 weeks?

I love my current house. Its not the biggest or fanciest I've ever owned . . . but it is absolutely the most "comfortable"! All the work I've done on this house . . . has helped it become just what I want it to be. I wish I could "transport" this house, the next time I have to move.
