Man, that journal entry started great and then really bummed me out

It's always sad when loved ones you've known your entire life (pets or humans) suddenly fade away rather ungracefully. On the one hand you don't want them to go, but on the other you know they're not living life very pleasantly anymore.

Mal-gary! I'm totally calling you that until you come back. And of course it was wonderful to finally spend some time with you. Come to Portland soon!

sad to read about your cat. it does seem like his best years are behind him... at least he was able to live a long and happy cat life, well into old age same for your grandfather.
but you got to see cherry! how exciting!

Sorry about the kitty! Its never easy to lose a pet . . expecially one that has been part of the family for a long time. Take solace in the fact that he will live in your memory forever. RIP genghis!

Im sorry to hear about your kitty.. its hard to loose a pet when youve had it for that long. Its even harder when you dont get to say goodbye..
